Although COVID-19 has changed a lot of things about the hospitality industry, even a pandemic can't stop us from exploring food. Dining out has always been one of those experiences that can range from being utterly random to extremely special. Many restaurants have yet to open up for a full 100% capacity, but until then, there is still a demand for eating out, but it's not just about sustenance. It is more about the experience that builds up as per the place where you choose to go.
The Nawaab's, a new kid in the F&B sector of Hyderabad, situated amidst the hustling lanes of Gachibowli-Miyapur road right opp to Platina building, is a multi-cuisine & family dine-in restaurant which has got its inception post-pandemic, wherein all the safety aspects are being adhered to so that the patrons can have a good & safe dining experience. Nawaabs hosts a contemporary mix of Royal decor with a touch of fine dining, be it the wooden furniture or some frames depicting ancient architecture of Old Hyderabad, this place righteously lives upto its name from the first glance as one walks in.
Coming to the food, the menu offers a myriad of Mughlai & Hyderabadi cuisine variants that can truly take a meat-lover for a joyride. Starting off with appetizers, we got Kakori & Galouti Kebabs, some well-known delicacies hailing from Lucknow, the minced meat in Kakori with rich spices along with cashew nut paste grilled to the apt level had a tender texture as compared to Seekh kebabs went well with some roti, however Galouti Kebab totally swept us off our feets with its melt-in-mouth meat texture tasted best with a tang of lime with mint chutney dip, a recommended pick. Moving on Chapli kebab & Murgh Tangdi graced our tables, Chapli having minced meat diced with onions & tomatoes with a dash of garam masala shallow-fried till perfection is something not to be missed at all, Tangdi on the other hand needed improvement as the salt levels were over-powering, the same was with Murgh malai kebab as well, however that's something which can be addressed easily. Moving to the main, we tried out Gosht Nihari & Kadai Chicken with an assorted bread basket, while Nihari was a smooth flour based stew with slow-cooked mutton with Indian spices which didn't knock the palate quite much with the flavours taking a toss. Rounding off mains with Zaffrani Mutton Biryani was having the subtle flavour of saffron in every morsel along with standard biryani masala, probably this is a really good version that's being served in & around Hitech city area at Nawaab's. Ending on a sweet note, Double ka Meetha had a tad bit dry texture owing to less amount of sugar solution, however, it was Nawaabi Kheer which was totally the apt sweet pick any glutton would ask, highly recommended pick for all sweet tooths out there. To sum up, Nawaab's is surely a great option for the folks in & around Gachibowli area to relish on some great Mughlai &...
Read moreMy recent visit to Nawaabs Hotel in Hyderabad, as part of a road trip with friends from Delhi to Kerala, turned into an ordeal that I'll never forget. What was meant to be a simple dining experience spiraled into a distressing encounter marked by mistreatment, intimidation, and aggression.
Upon entering the hotel, we patiently waited for 40 minutes just to secure a table, signaling a concerning lack of organization and efficiency. Despite this delay, we remained optimistic, looking forward to enjoying our meal. However, as time passed, our patience was tested even further when we had to wait an additional 15 minutes just to receive the bill after finishing our food and enjoying a fresh juice.
As we made our way towards the exit, expecting to settle our bill and depart, chaos erupted. Without warning, one of our friends was aggressively accosted by a staff member who accused us of attempting to dine and dash. Shocked and bewildered, we attempted to explain that we had already paid, but our pleas fell on deaf ears. Instead, we were met with verbal abuse and physical intimidation, with no regard for our dignity or rights as customers.
The situation escalated when a supervisor, easily identifiable by his red shirt, joined in the confrontation, exhibiting even more aggressive behavior. Despite the presence of CCTV cameras, which could have easily corroborated our innocence, we were treated as criminals and subjected to unwarranted physical force. This blatant disregard for customer well-being and safety is utterly unacceptable, especially in an establishment that purports to offer hospitality.
Feeling threatened and fearing for our safety, we made a hasty retreat, thankful to have escaped the escalating situation. However, the emotional and psychological toll of the incident lingered long after we left the premises. As someone who frequently explores different regions and their culinary offerings, I've never encountered such appalling treatment.
My experience at Nawaabs Hotel serves as a cautionary tale for all travelers. It's imperative to prioritize safety and exercise caution when patronizing establishments, even those with seemingly reputable names. I implore fellow travelers to think twice before considering Nawaabs Hotel as a dining option and to prioritize their well-being above all else.
It's crucial for businesses to uphold basic standards of customer service and respect, and Nawaabs Hotel has failed egregiously in this regard. My friends and I will not be returning, and I urge others to heed...
Read moreThe Nawaab’s Restaurant in Gachibowli is a popular destination for those who enjoy rich Mughlai and Hyderabadi cuisine. Known especially for its Zafrani mutton biryani, the restaurant delivers a flavorful experience with tender meat and fragrant saffron rice. The biryani portions are generous, often enough for two people, and leave a lasting impression with their aroma and taste.
The menu also includes a wide range of starters such as Tangdi kebab, Murgh Malai kebab, and Gosht Nihari. These are praised for their deep marination, tenderness, and authentic Nawabi flavors. The Irani chai served at the cafe section is another favorite, though some diners feel its sweetness can vary.
The ambiance is elegant and designed with a regal theme. The furniture, lighting, and decor are inspired by traditional Nizami interiors. It provides a comfortable and aesthetic space for families, friends, and group dining. The restaurant can accommodate a fairly large number of guests and is especially lively during evenings and weekends.
Service can sometimes be slow during peak hours. Long wait times for tables and slight delays in food service are common on busy days. However, the staff is generally polite, and the food presentation is appealing.
Hygiene has occasionally been a concern based on past inspections and customer feedback. Issues like unlabelled food items and cleanliness lapses have been pointed out, so caution is advised when choosing to dine in.
Overall, The Nawaab’s offers a memorable dining experience with its flavorful dishes and regal ambiance. It is a great place for enjoying traditional Hyderabadi non-vegetarian cuisine, especially biryani and kebabs. Visiting on weekdays or during off-peak hours is recommended for a smoother and more...
