The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere with Kashmiri decor, enhancing the cultural dining experience. The staff was knowledgeable, explaining each dish as it was served—a nice touch for those unfamiliar with Wazwan.

The highlight was undoubtedly the Aab-gosh.

The meal began with a plate full of rice, with methi maaz and kabab placed on it.

Rista & Goshtaba ( mutton balls in rich gravy) Melt-in-the-mouth texture, perfectly spiced. Rogan Josh – Tender meat in a fragrant, aromatic curry. Tabak Maaz (crispy fried ribs) – A delightful contrast of crispiness and juicy meat. Aab Gosh – A lighter, milk-based mutton curry with delicate spices.

The Goshtaba was exceptional—velvety smooth and rich, a true testament to the chef’s skill.

The serving pace could have been slightly faster.

An outstanding place to experience authentic Wazwan inside restaurant in Kashmir. The flavors were rich, traditional, and well-balanced. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a royal Kashmiri feast!

Will I Visit...

If you're a tourist, chances are you're going to visit Mughal Darbar to try Wazwan but if you want to do it the way locals do, try the wazwan here! They have the the authenticity you're looking for. The ambience might not be as fancy as MD but the taste was amazing and the preparation was top notch. Loved every item that was served but my favorite has to be roghan josh and methi gosht. The restaurant is just besides Jamia Masjid on the main road and you can park your vehicle on the road itself if you plan to visit. Our server bhai Iqbal (apologies if I'm mistaken) became really happy as we identified the dishes correctly. His smile really bought a lot of joy to the entire experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal and would really recommend this restaurant to people who really want to get authentic taste and not the tourist crap served at maximum...
