Had a very bad experience over a piece of basbusa (a sweet). With the very first bite of it I could taste the staleness and sourness. I felt the need to gag and put it out immediately. I took a closer look and could find fungal growth over the small dry fruit piece placed in the centre, networking towards the surrounding rava. For a confirmation, I asked my friend to have a look at it. The observation was the same. I took it to the serving people and when I told it tasted different, they said they've added curd. I wanted clarification, I waited there. Every person there left me unattended (Please note, by now the tray of the sweet was taken off the display). I went to the person at the counter seeking for an answer. He accused me for not have eaten or not knowing the taste of this Arabic sweet earlier. When I said I've eaten it before and I know the taste (cause I've eaten before in their own outlet near nanthoor and I've eaten it from an Arabian country too) he said, "no the taste is like that itself". Now he admits the stale taste is how the sweet is. When I showed him the fungal growth, he tried to rub it off with his fingers asking me "where, where?". He broke the sweet in pieces, when I spotted another fungal growth and tried to show him this time, he said no that wasn't. I said, it's tasting bad and itseems like a stale food and he says "by tasting nobody identifies a stale food". Like what??? He started getting rude, he kept accusing me for not knowing the right taste of the sweet, and then for my faulty observation of a fungal growth, and then for false identification of stale food. Later, he just crushed the sweet. If he knew that I was right, he wouldn't have done that act of spoiling the evidence of a stale food. I wish I had taken a proof (a photo to show the fungal growth) of it before handling it to him. My bad, I assumed him to notice what was so evident but he wanted to believe that there was nothing. Would kindly request the management or the concerned staff to improve on customer service and to keep up with...
