It was the new year eve and my family thought it'd be a better option to dine out. So we stepped out unplanned and sought suggestion from the auto-rickshaw driver. They came up with couple of good restaurant names of which they insisted on visiting Malika Fine Dining. We reached the restaurant which is housed in the White Lotus Hotel and found almost about 5 - 7 families already waiting. This led to late realization of need to be early as it's new year eve. The restaurant manager Mr. Sharad Kotian politely informed us a waiting time of at least 20 mins. And looking at the tables we noticed that many had just started ordering food, we started exploring other options. We were family of seven and it would easily have taken more than 20 mins to accommodate us.

After doing all our maths we arrived at a logical conclusion that we will stay to experience Malika Fine Dining's hospitality. Now since we took a gamble we really hoped the experience be a better one. Finally, after wait of 20 mins. approx. the person from the restaurant came over to enquire the count of persons. By now we were the only people waiting all others were accomodated as the family size were lesser. Oh by the way we were just in luck as one of the families couldn't bear the waiting time and decided to walk out as they had probably felt the restaurant was not managing the guests on first-cum-first basis. Any ways we got a cozy place to seat it was nearing 10:30 PM which is their last order time. So as soon as we found our comfort the waiter rushed in to take our order. He helped us with ordering by suggesting the food options and drinks. As we started the food also arrived at a decent pace. The tandoori platter was good, followed by Drums of the heaven, surprisingly the shallow fried rava coated brinjal slices were a delicacy and we thoroughly enjoyed it. That's a recommendation if you are there. Being in Udupi we preferred local cuisine so ordered Kori Roti though we had already tasted it but wanted to feel the consistency and texture of the chicken gravy cooked in coconut milk which gives it richness. And we were not left disappointed. I generally am in the favor of tasting local cuisine when at a new place. My kids still wanted to have hakka noodles which satiated them. The service was fast but at times needed to wait to get attention ahhh...I got my drink which was speciality of the day a wee bit delayed....!!😏 the only other detractor if I may say for being unable to use the correct word. But it was worth the wait. Overall it's worth visting if you...

This place is an absolute stunner!! The first thing that strikes you is the mesmerizing ambiance… its perfectly balanced with the old coastal royalty and local home theme, peppered with common household items and complemented with perfect lighting which gives both a traditional and warm feel. The seating too is very comfortable and spacious.

Coming to the food, it’s equally good as the ambience of the place. They have a lot of coastal dishes and common items along with their own speciality dishes. The bonda chicken is a must try and is absolutely delicious! The ghee roast chicken and prawns were both excellent and go really well with neer dosa or appam! The fish menu is also brilliant. Be it silver or other fish like bangda, king fish or even the squid we tried, the dishes were not just fresh but super flavorful! The tawa fry and the masala fry were absolutely delightful!! The place also serves meals and has a loaded menu , and based on our experience I don’t think any dish ordered here will disappoint you! The specials that the place has - be it in starters or the main course - don’t give it a miss!

They even have some really great desserts with a mix of traditional sweets and also more contemporary ones. To top it up, the place also serves beer and has an elaborate bar menu.

Overall it was a great experience dining at this place. The service and staff too were brilliant and for the ambiance, the quality and quantity of the dishes and overall service the prices seemed to be super reasonable! A great place to visit with family or friends and just relax and enjoy the authentic traditional...

The first visit to this place was an overall delightful experience. The standout dish, the Bonda chicken, was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor—a definite must-try. Among the starters, both the spicy Pudina chicken and the flavorful ghee roast prawns left a good impression. However, the chicken biriyani fell short of expectations, a disappointing note in an otherwise great meal.

In terms of pricing, the overall value for money was fair, especially considering the exceptional service and quality of most dishes. Some items, like the lamb chops, seemed overpriced and didn't match their value. On the brighter side, the milkshakes were fantastic; the tender coconut milkshake, in particular, stood out as a must-have. The mocktails were also a pleasing addition to the meal.

Regarding the naans, they were a bit on the softer side but paired well with the flavorful butter chicken. Regrettably, the absence of local desserts during the visit led us to try the Gud Bud, which turned out to be a good alternative. Despite a slight delay in food delivery, the overall service was commendable. The pleasant interior, with its fantastic lighting, added to the enjoyable...

The ambience was good. The service including the valet was good. We ordered starters and they were good. Guntur Chicken is very spicy but was good. Chicken Urval was the best amongst the starters. Chicken Chatpata had a lot of pieces and tasted good. Chicken salt and pepper was normal like how you get it in other places. Banana leaves Chilli chicken had an exquisite taste. I didn't expect it to be good but it had a very good taste. Roti was a little hard and felt a little extra on the texture. Chicken Kolhapuri was like any normal gravy you expect. Dum biryani tasted good as well. We ordered a green mojito which was nice but was pricey. We had an amazing dish for dessert called Kharjura Milk Chocolate Brownie. It tasted out of the world delicious. We ended up ordering two. Coconut White Chocolate Cheese Cake was a good big piece of serving of a cake. Do save some space for dessert so you can enjoy. This restaurant should be known for it's starters and this dessert. Do try the dessert if not any.

This is the inhouse non-vegetarian restaurant of White Lotus Hotel. I had visited the restaurant for cocktail related inquiry, but found the atmosphere too gloomy and dark for my liking. So, ordered room service from here. The reviewers are raving about their Bonda Chicken. The thing in my photos that is in coconut shell, is Bonda Chicken. It is alright though, not great. Little on the saltier side and heavy handed on spices. Even though it is listed in Starters, you can't have it as it is. Make sure you order Neer Dosa with it. Crispy Corn was a delight to eat and I remember I was happy eating it. I had ordered 2 mocktails, a zombie one and a berry one. Both of them were disappointing and forgettable. Overall okay, but I think this was one time experience for me. When I stay at White Lotus Hotel the next time, I am not sure if I will try this restaurant again.
