Chithara Comforts — Hotel in Karnataka

Really liked the hotel room. This is a very new property launched only in June 2022. Very big and spacious. Very easily one extra bed can be accommodated in the same room. There are two category of rooms. Suit and double delux. Both category rooms have separate sitting area and bed. Really good for family with kids. Right in the middle of everything around. Krishna temple is walking distance, city center and coin museum is walking distance. Can get auto right at the gate of hotel for everywhere else. Must get a two wheeler or four where if coming for vacation for more than 2 days. Food is very good and quick from Vivaan Restaurant in hotel. Ample parking in front of hotel and basement. Front of hotel is not in roadside but in hotel property. Few things which need to be addressed are mentioned below.

Provision for hand wash in bathroom is not created, no place to keep soap after opening for hand wash

Instead of providing shower gel, provide shampoo or provide both and include loofah as well, because providing shower gel without loofah doesn't make sense

Provision for toothbrush to be provided based on occupants in the room

Really want to appreciate mr. Manoj and Rakshith who helped in ensuring our stay is comfortable and enjoyable.

This property deserves a five star. I deducted one star because of the behaviour of receptionist/front desk employee named Maitri. When my son called for some help she had the audacity to tell me that do i have a problem that I can not call. I asked if there is an issue in my son calling but she was very arogant in her approach. This really didn't go down well. I even wrote complain of her misbehaviour on paper and given to management for acknowledging but that is still pending as per them past two days no one from management has visited the property and they are on leave. Please ask for any other front desk employee if Maitri picks up the phone, just to avoid any uncalled incident like mine. I Had prebooked the rooms and visited Udupi along with My family. After a tiring day we reached the hotel around 11:30PM hoping we can take rest. We were surprised to discover that our rooms were sold out to some other customers and they were trying to sell some low quality hotel to us. Terrible experience and imagine my situation standing outside the hotel along with the family (also 2 kids) without a room. We were really upset with such behavior from staff. The staff was behaving as if they did not do any mistake and we didn't pre-book. Our booking is still there in the register and the best part is I did not even book online, I walked in the previous week and booked directly.

Such behavior and selling rooms allocated to me to someone else for a higher value during a weekend is a classic example of money menting mentality of this hotel management.

Never suggest anyone on booking rooms here. Either you will end up in some cheap hotels which they will take you or else u will end up without a room. Not at all reliable.

Highly disappointed.

Iam sure these guys will reply with some vague reasons to prove / justify themselves, but me and my family knows what we faced and...

During our visit to Udupi, we stayed at Chithara comforts. Stay was really nice, we reached Udupi pretty early and on request they provided us with a room when we mentioned that our check out time will be early too. Room was really really nice, with a separate sitting area, big bed and nice and clean bathroom. Food at their restaurant was good too, we ordered gadbad ice cream and also masala dosa on breakfast both were great. Travel desk: though they don't have a dedicated travel desk but they shared a contact, which was really good and provided excellent service.

Room service and house keeping is the only area I felt there was a lack of service and coordination. For example, we ordered black tea at 3:45 PM and specifically mentioned no sugar. We had to go out at 4:30 PM but only after two follow ups tea was served that too at 4:30 and with sugar. Second instance was when we asked at reception to get our rooms cleaned, no one cleaned it though we were out between 7AM till 2:30PM.
