Stayed there on 25th Dec. Since it was eclipse next day & christmas vacation on, there was rush at Udupi. We reached hotel at around 8 pm, very anxious about Krishna Temple Darshan. Some people in train had told us, temple may close early due to eclipse next day.||||Hotel Reception desk was friendly. They told us, temple is open, but there is rush, so we should immediately go there. They told us to fill the check-in form later, 2 staff kept our luggage in our assigned room & off we went to temple.||||Room was good, bathroom was small but ok. Hot water continuous. Shampoo quality was better. Two water bottles in room. Newspaper in morning. Complementary breakfast from 7-9 AM. We enjoyed breakfast.||||Went to St.Mary's island, came back, freshened up & checked out. Had Lunch in the Hotel. Since we are vegeterians, we ordered north indian dishes. Let me tell you, it was very good, tasty, lip smacking. 5 stars for that. Service was proper. ||||Its in city centre, near to service bus stand. Auto's available outside hotel. This place has great food and generous portions ladled out..at least it was that way, the last time i went. I hope its thecsame even now. The price is reasonable and the ambience is classy. The only little blemish for me is the entrance. Its very narrow with no parking space. You literally have to jump put the auto and climb the steps into the hotel. Its also somewhat in the interior and not out on the road. Not prominently seen. They also have rooms to stay if anyone wishes. I would say its worth a visit.

A recent update: we had lunch. Starters of fish and chicken were excellent. Then noodles were ok..nothing too exciting. You have to watch out for the spice. The noodles had a liberal sprinkle of red chillies which has to be avoided while eating. Not many options in dessert. But an overall pleasant...
