I have been to multiple Sagar ratna hotels but this one was unique and not such a good experience. There are a few points I would highlight.
First, the wait time was a little too much considering that there were places empty inside. The person who we asked was also not so polite. Honestly he looked more like a I don't care kind of person. Had to ask 3-4 times if any places were available or not. Lack luster response.
Coming to the service part, Considering my multiple experiences with Sagar ratna, I had hoped for a better service but it was a complete disappointment. Orders were not served on time, and some orders they completely forgot. Had to remind them again and again to have it delivered. Frustrated, we had to cancel a few orders as there was no hope of getting it on time.
Food being the most terrible villain to this visit. Honestly, Me being a person who always goes with something safe, gets tricked. Seriously and honestly NOTHING was good. Veg biriyani, a complete disaster. Soup, stale and thin. North Thali, again a disaster, food taste was terrible. Veg fried rice, you can get better in stalls than eating this.
Concluding this frustrating review as already tired with it. Only one note to the team, a place like this may become a stain in the long run. Sagar ratna overall, has a great reputation which should not be tainted with something like this. Our celebration got ruined because of this. Hopefully, no one else will have to go through it again. For me, at least visiting this place won't even be in my bad dreams due to...

Sagar Ratna at The Ocean Pearl is hands down one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Mangalore. We’ve visited multiple times — with family, friends, and even for small celebrations. The quality of food and the overall experience has always been top class.
Our all-time favourite is their Paneer Ghee Roast — the flavour is just perfect. Their dosa varieties, especially during breakfast and dinner, are also amazing. Everything tastes fresh, and the portion sizes are good too.
The place is neat, well maintained, and has a nice family-friendly atmosphere. Service is usually polite and fast, but during peak hours, especially weekends, it can get really crowded. Sometimes you may have to wait to get a table, but it’s worth it.
The staff is courteous and handles the rush well. We also like that they maintain cleanliness and consistency, which makes us keep coming back.
If you’re a vegetarian or even just looking for a clean, tasty, and satisfying meal in Mangalore, this place is a must-visit. Strongly recommend it for both locals...

What I tried:
I came for lunch and tried their “North Indian Thali”, one tomato soup, 2 Tandoori Roti (without butter) with one Panner curry, one mix veg and one dal makhani; small portion of dal-rice and one decent portion of veg pulav; papad and ice-cream were included; starter was missing.
Quantity was good to full the stomach; Taste was “OK”.
Suggestion: Maybe they can add one small starter to the North Indian Thali & serve butter Tandoori Roti instead of plain.
Final Review: Can be visited once -...
