First of all, let me talk about the food. Going through the menu, we were confused on which one to choose. The person there suggested their Margherita pizza for first time customers, but he also told that there is an option to choose two flavours on a single pizza. So we went with their Garlic Fingers pizza and Marinara pizza. They charged the price of the higher priced pizza among the both, but I felt that was a good idea as we are able to taste two flavours. Coming to the pizzas, they serve thin crust 12” pizzas. Garlic Fingers is a must try for all the garlic and cheese lovers and those who want something simple yet fresh, go for the Marinara pizza- having pulpy tomato sauce and drizzled with olive oil. By eight is by far the absolute best pizza place in Kochi. The ambience is quaint and intimate perfect for hanging out with friends family or a special one. The service is spot on and prompt. The team make sure they give you the best experience possible. The head chef Nayaz’s passion is evident in every detail of the menu. My first time at by eight was in their original gig and the margarita had me sold that I would travel multiple hours to Kochi just to have their pizza. Ok. A bit overwhelmed at seeing an almost flawless rating to this little spot. Well, here's my take...and it's entirely my opinion. Let's be fair. I had an average experience. Maybe it was the high expectations, don't know. My wife and I just ordered a Margherita which is supposed to be their signature pizza of the lot. But somehow the flavours didn't add up to create that magic I wanted. The crust was fine though. It was probably the overpowering of the tomato sauce that took away the subtleness of the mozzarella and the basil. The atmosphere was totally lifeless.
