The entrance The ambience of this restaurant is awesome, artistically the best. We felt like WOW... Suspended by only Antiques and fantastic statues. We just wish it gets complemented by their food. Firstly is a pure Non-Veg restaurant, people who love sea food might liked food. As we were vegetarians we had to settle with juices and tea. The orange juice was terrific but the ginger tea was at the same time... What should i say... I would prefer what i prepare at home. The line soda was the shocking experience. The waiter placed an empty jar with a mild cold soda and sugar syrup. Upon along him to please change the soda we got reply this is what we are having right now. As we were to get refreshed we went with the items but to aish utter shock couldn't gulp what he prepared. The another hurricane of shock was when we couldn't is their washrooms.... Particularly 3 of them as ask were flooded with paper and were not flushed.

Visited here along with my family one week back. 👍 Ambience is great. The Restaurant is situated near the riverside and you can see small ships and boats sailing nearby. A slight drizzling rain added flavours to the ambience. Spent some quality time with family. Lots of lush green areas, photogenic areas are inside the premises where you can shoot some excellent portraits.. 👍❤ Coming to the negatives - Although the restaurant was only half occupied, it took 15 minutes for us to finally draw the attention of a waiter towards us. That was not much of an issue for us, as we were already occupied in watching the riverside views. But i'ts really annoying and the management must take an initiative for improving the customer service. The waiting time for food and mojitos is too high. Nearly 45 minutes and thats completely ruining the mood. Again we waited for another 10-15 minutes to get the bill.. donno why there was such a delay even for a bill.. 🤣 Food was good but not that great either. A bit expensive too.. Infact we were a bit disappointed with the food.☹️ The manager of the antique shop at the entrance was very rude and while entering the premise, the first thing she told us is that photography is not allowed. We were actually visiting the restaurant not the antique shop. There was no need for her to talk to us like that. We felt a little odd.. 🙄 If you want some excellent pics then do visit this place. Dont expect much other than that. Iam giving 3 stars only because of the ambience it offers. Disappointed regarding the food and service. Hope they will look into the issues and improve in near future. Would like to visit here again if they improves.. 👍

The + point of the place is only, ONLY the aesthetics. Nothing else. 1 star for this. FOOD: Food is severely mediocre and extremely overpriced. It offers nothing special. The amount of food being served is so less - tiniest proportions for the price being paid. Everything looks like something you can get at a regular home in kerala. If you are on vacation here, you can get the same, if not better tasting food in a normal hotel for ⅓ the price. We had to find another cafe since we were hungry despite paying over 600 per head. SERVICE: It took 1 hour and us asking them a couple of times to even serve water or give us napkins. Serving times are really long, the waiter said it's because they don't make anything before hand. Don't know. The only thing that came faster was the bill. MUSEUM STAFF: They charge you 20-30 rupees if you want to take pictures around the place. 🤣. They are kind of not welcoming and are on your tails to charge you for everything. They are rude.

We tried this restaurant for brunch. Located in the Jew Town, it offers a pleasant view. Finding a table here was easy as there's were only a few guests. The moment we sat down, we observed some serious hygiene issues, and the cutlery and plates were poorly cleaned. The table also had spots. Not sure why no one else noticed. The food here was average, and staff couldn't be more lax about the service. It seemed as if they had never tended any guests. What deserves a special mentio? You would find that the property owner tried expressing creativity. This could be seen from the artifacts spread all over the property. What could be better? The staff needs to be replaced with trained professionals. No one likes to dine at a filthy place. Good for a one-time visit? No, there are better ways to get ill, than dining at a poorly maintained restaurant. There are better options with at par views. We were so disgusted here that we left without a proper meal.

WOW! I happened to be strolling around the early morning hours in Kochi and stumbled across the Ginger House, located in Mattancherry, which is known for its spices. I was staying in Fort Cochi and the walk here was about 30 minutes, totally doable. A tuk-tuk would cost you about 50 rupees. The service of the staff was a bit slow but it didn't hinder the fact that the food was delicious! If you are here on a hot day, you NEED to try the ginger lime soda!! It was incredible, cold fizzy gingery and just super cooling in the hot heat. I ended up ordering the meal consisting of prawn curry with rice and appam. I was shocked when the food came, there was so much yet I somehow managed to finish everything. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a delicious meal by the water!! I actually came back here the day after since it was just that good!

Extremely worst service, poor hygiene and very high cost. Very bad restaurant in mattancherry area. If you are going with family and not for consuming alcohol, this place is not for you, they seem to care only about people who come here for drinking alcohol. Very lethargic and slow service. They will give rice on your plate and make you wait for 10 mins to get curry, never seen such a worst thali before. Their restrooms flush didn't work and the wash area is filthy. They charge 850 rs for vegetarian sadya, definitely not worth the hype. For a table of 7 people they bring 3 glasses of water and didn't bring water for everyone until you leave. Never seen such a worst place being priced this expensive.
