This was a major disappointment. I took my family to this restaurant for a late lunch around 330 pm on a weekday.
I had high hopes given the location and general ambiance of the place. There were very few people there, mostly foreign tourists. That should have been my first clue.
This restaurant lacks true Kerala hospitality. The servers and manager had no energy or warmth.
I ordered some basic Malayalee food items including Parotta, beef fry and chicken biriyani. Those 3 items were really terrible. The porotta were cold, stiff and dry. The beef and briiyani lacked authentic taste and spices. The porotta were not hot. Inahd to ask them to heat it up. They first offered me appam instead. The rice, and fish curry was also sub standard.
The chicken 65 and milkshakes were decent. The chicken curry and noodles were average. The rice, and fish curry was also sub standard. The fried prawns were also just ok. The bill was almost 6000 rupees, about 2X the average cost at other good restaurants.
After explaining to the manager Vinu saar that the food was so bad, he explained the food was prepared in the morning. He explained they can't make fresh food all the time. He provide a 10% discount on the total bill.
Why would a restaurant that charges such extravagant prices not prepare high quality, well prepared, authentic food for its customers? If the food item is bad or not authentic, remove those items from the menu
I recommend avoiding this restaurant. Use it as a last resort and ask them if the food is old or whether it will be freshly prepared.
There are amazing authentic, well priced options elsewhere in Mattancherry and Fort Kochi.

Read moreVisited here along with my family one week back. 👍 Ambience is great. The Restaurant is situated near the riverside and you can see small ships and boats sailing nearby. A slight drizzling rain added flavours to the ambience. Spent some quality time with family. Lots of lush green areas, photogenic areas are inside the premises where you can shoot some excellent portraits.. 👍❤
Coming to the negatives - Although the restaurant was only half occupied, it took 15 minutes for us to finally draw the attention of a waiter towards us. That was not much of an issue for us, as we were already occupied in watching the riverside views. But i'ts really annoying and the management must take an initiative for improving the customer service. The waiting time for food and mojitos is too high. Nearly 45 minutes and thats completely ruining the mood. Again we waited for another 10-15 minutes to get the bill.. donno why there was such a delay even for a bill.. 🤣
Food was good but not that great either. A bit expensive too.. Infact we were a bit disappointed with the food.☹️ The manager of the antique shop at the entrance was very rude and while entering the premise, the first thing she told us is that photography is not allowed. We were actually visiting the restaurant not the antique shop. There was no need for her to talk to us like that. We felt a little odd.. 🙄
If you want some excellent pics then do visit this place. Dont expect much other than that. Iam giving 3 stars only because of the ambience it offers. Disappointed regarding the food and service. Hope they will look into the issues and improve in near future. Would like to visit here again if they...
Read moreHighly overrated place. We were intrigued with the restaurant's interior and its collection of beautiful antiques but the service and the food were extremely poor. We entered the place and waited for around 10mins to be seated. The staff pretended to not see us or we were invisible not sure. The table was as left by the previous customers and we had to call someone to get it cleaned. We placed order for russian salad, tea, lime soda and diet coke. It took over 30mins to get these many items to our table. Russian salad was poorly done without eggs and barely any fruits. Had russian salad at a local restaurant at kannur which was far better. Very basic drink like tea was done surprisingly bad. No idea how they can get that wrong. There was no ice in lime soda. It was quite difficult to get the server's attention even while the restaurant was empty. Once we were done, we took a stroll through the restaurant and thought of clicking pictures but the staff informed us that photography was not allowed. We sat on a bench and were looking through various other photos in our camera and the staff repeated that photos were not allowed. Were we supposed to run away with our camera? We weren't trespassing a private property rather we had food and were strolling over to get a better look. Given that its a star rated restaurant, behaviour of the staff was extremely poor and it would be better to keep it as an antique shop rather than a restaurant as well cuz i see no value addition. There are far better places with great authentic kerala cuisine and other cuisines available in Fort kochi with far better service. Would never recommend this...
