God's Own Country Kitchen — Restaurant in Kerala

For a place to have such great food while failing to provide a good customer service feels pretty ironic to me. I visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy the costal delicacy which was highly rated, although they serve great food, I am highly disappointed over the way we were treated there. It is quite an unnatural occurance for a crow to try to take away one of our orders which we had barely tasted, it definitely was a bizzare experience and when we did ask for a solution to this their first reaction was that of saying "You should have shooed the crow away", "We cannot help you because we have served the order and we are not responsible" and then the caretaker responded by saying "You have finished most of the dish and now you are asking for a refund" along with saying "I have been observing since the time you have entered, you have had more than enough food for you to say you couldnt finish the meal" and when asked for an alternative his reply was " Please give them some rice or chapati so they can have it with the curry" and it is to be noted that this was the same curry that the crow had picked on from. At the end his final concession was that of rupees 200 on a platter worth rupees 3000 and that genuienly is the last of my concerns, because it definitely is an understandable point that it was not a factor involving the hotel staff, but for the treatement that we experienced there is something a person would definitely have to experience, and when I did personally have a talk saying I am highly dissapointed and will definitely leave a review stating my experience his only reply was "We will be asking only one question and that is if the food tasted good" , for a person working in the restaurant industry it is a disgrace to be very honest to barely care about the customer experience and I can definitely say that it was one of the worst dining experiences that I have come across even when the food tasted...

I recently had the opportunity to dine at God's Own Country Kitchen, and my experience was, well, okay. The restaurant boasts a cozy atmosphere with a mix of rustic and modern décor, creating a comfortable setting for a meal and I think it’s the only restaurant on the cliff which has live music facility. The staff was friendly and efficient, ensuring a smooth dining process. However, I didn't find the service particularly memorable. It was decent, but there was nothing that stood out as exceptional. (You will need to have lot of patience because the service is bit slow and the food might take sometime to be served to you) Now, onto the food. The menu offers a variety of dishes, The flavours were good, but I wouldn't say they were mind-blowing. The presentation was nice, and the portions were decent, but there was nothing that left a lasting impression. Also, the cost of the foods are too high I thought compared to the place. (Food ordered were chicken biryani, parotta, chicken chettinad, lemon soda etc) In summary, God's Own Country Kitchen offers a decent dining experience. Hello foodies yet another gem place to eat at Varkala Cliff. Very close to the helipad this place serves amazing sea food. We recently tried this restaurant on our trip and they are serving really delicious sea food..best part is they have a display desk of all fresh catch of the day where you can pick and choose and ask them to make it as per taste. We took a whole fish and asked them to prepare their signature banana leaf dish. The combo comes with fish and rice or 2 Paratha. The fish tasted delicious and tender and perfectly cooked. The whole fish came wrapped in a banana leaf. The best part is as we are not that habitual eating fish the waiter came and served fish so nicely and clean that not even a single bone came while we ate the same. A good place to enjoy food, which has seating on two floors, ground and up with a scenic view of Varkala beach Only one minus point as their washrooms are not that neat and clean , hence you can avoid using them for your own hygiene.
