Poor Experience at Overpriced Eatery
While the staff was attentive and friendly, the overall experience at this establishment was severely lacking. The ambiance was dull and uninviting, with uncomfortable seating that made it difficult to enjoy our meal.
To add insult to injury, the prices were exorbitantly high for what was essentially an average restaurant. A duck curry dish, for instance, came with a meager serving of a single piece of meat and two pieces of skin, all for a whopping 400 rupees.
The quality of the food was passable at best, but the exorbitant prices made it an extremely poor value. For the same price, one could get a much more satisfying meal at neighboring eateries such as 'Dhe Puttu'.
We were particularly dismayed by the glaring disparity between the prices and the quality of the food. It felt as if the restaurant was relying solely on the good graces of the staff to compensate for its shortcomings.
Furthermore, the cleanliness of the establishment was questionable. The seating area was dusty and the restrooms were not well-maintained.
In conclusion, this restaurant is only worth visiting if you are desperate for food and have an excess of funds to spare. We would strongly recommend considering alternative dining options that offer better value and a more...
Read moreThe worst customer service!!! The hotel staff gives priority to only those people, who they feel are rich and high class... We visited the restaurant for the first time today, hoping to enjoy some seafood as I crave for fish nowadays, in my ninth month of pregnancy.
We placed our order at 1:30pm and waited for about 20 minutes, while the customers who came after us, ordered their dish and was served immediately. My father, who is a diabetic, asked the waiter if we have to keep waiting to get the meals that we ordered, he replied 'Yes!!!' with a bad attitude and walked past to the kitchen.
We had to call another waiter and formally request, just for a glass of water. My BP was already low and my family was already tired, as we had spent a long time in the hospital for scanning and other checkups. We waited till 2pm. By that time, all other customers who arrived after us were served their dishes. The ironic part is that all we ordered was 3 fish curry meals and a chicken noodles.
We had no choice than to leave the restaurant as my BP had already dropped too low. I still can't believe the attitude and negligence that they showed towards me and my family. This is by far, the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. That 'one star' is just...
Read moreBeware of Fraud & Unfair Pricing!
I visited Kettuvallam Restaurant on Kaloor Kadavanthara Road today and was shocked to find out that I was overcharged for my meal. We ordered 2 meals and 1 Chembally fry and asked the waiter about the price of the Chembally fry. He said it was Rs. 400. They served the meals along with one plate of Chembally fry, and in that plate, they had cut the fish into two pieces.
However, when the bill came, they charged Rs. 800 for the Chembally fry. We spoke to both the waiter and the person at the cash counter, but neither provided a satisfactory explanation.
I also want to add that the beetroot kichadi served with the meals was stale.
As a customer, I expect transparency and honesty in pricing. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. If you plan to dine at Kettuvallam Restaurant on Kaloor Kadavanthara Road, make sure the waiter is not misleading you about the prices of the dishes.
I was also going through the Google reviews of the same restaurant and was shocked to see that other customers who ordered Chembally fry had the same bad experience. So, what I understood from this is that it's their usual practice to cheat customers.
Keep going Boss, and enjoy the money you are making by looting...
