Café Liège in Kochi delivers a visually appealing experience with its cool ambience and laid-back vibe. The interiors are stylish, thoughtfully designed, and make for a pleasant hangout spot. Their staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming – which definitely adds warmth to the experience. However, when it comes to value for money, Café Liège falls short, especially in a city where burger competition is fierce.
The pricing here feels a bit out of place. There are other burger joints in Kochi – like Burgery – that serve equally (if not more) satisfying burgers at significantly lower prices. For what’s being charged at Café Liège, one would expect bold flavors and standout quality. Unfortunately, my burger experience was fairly average. The patty lacked seasoning, the bun was just okay, and overall, the taste didn’t justify the premium cost.
There’s definitely potential for improvement. A few tweaks to the seasoning, sauce options, or even freshness of the ingredients could elevate the taste by a lot.
On the practical side, note that there’s only street parking available, which can be inconvenient during busy hours. Another small downside is that the wash area is located outside the building – not ideal, especially in rainy weather.
Overall, Café Liège has the right atmosphere and service attitude, but to truly compete in Kochi’s growing food scene, they’ll need to refine their flavors and reassess their pricing strategy. With a bit of effort, it could easily become a...
Read moreI thought of trying this joint by seeing their google rating. The place is small yet thoughtfully planned. The service I felt was not that great as I preferred a table and asked to clean it. The staff came and requested me to move to another table and saying that their cleaning cloth is not washed. Somehow it sounded strange. Anyway I switched table and the moment I changed the table, the cleaning staff came and cleaned the other table. I would not call that a big deal as it may have been just some miscommunication, but definitely not a service which I would applaud. The worst part came when I unfortunately had to visit the washroom before having food and was totally shocked with the place behind. Even if it's meant for their staff, the place was disgusting. On opening a wooden door, two rats jumped over to the floor and I almost jumped out of my skin. It was a filthy place where I had to walk over broken wooden planks and there were trashes littered on the floor and in open boxes. For a moment I had dropped the plan of even having the food there, but since I had already ordered I tried their food, and being a burger fan, I have had far better burgers from other places and the overall rating of 4.7 star seems overrated to me. Taste was average, there was too much oil. Literally oil was dripping out along with some burnt onions as well.
My Final Rating Food :3/5 Service :...

The Leige has certainly changed quite a bit since its earlier days as The Burger Leige. The new location is more accessible, but unfortunately, there’s no parking available, which is a drawback compared to the previous spot. The old location, though tucked away, had convenient parking and a cozy, nostalgic vibe.
Back then, the burgers were fantastic, simple, tasty, and affordable. The ambience felt more personal with a smaller staff, and the single-page menu made ordering easy and straightforward. The real highlight was the value for money sweet spot: great taste at great prices.
Now, the menu has expanded to 4–6 pages, including pastas and other café-style items. While variety can be a good thing, the menu now feels a bit overwhelming and lacks the simplicity that once made this place special. Burger prices have also gone up by ₹40–₹80, which is understandable with the upgraded infrastructure and added staff, but it slightly takes away from the charm and affordability that defined the original experience.
The taste remains largely the same, which is a relief, but the increased prices make it feel a bit less satisfying. Honestly, I wish they had never moved. The old setup had a unique character that’s hard...
