After great amount of publicity this restaurant received through reviews i finally visited the restaurant after a long wait. I ordered the fish n chips as a starter, both the fried fish and the fries were too salty to begin with also the dips provided was also not great in taste. The main issue I have is the way in which the steaks were cooked, as the main course I ordered the meat platter, animal style beef and beef wellington. Both the meats in the platter and the wellington were severely undercooked. The only meat which was cooked well is the beef in the animal style beef and that too not worth the hype it gets, the 2 stars I am giving for this restaurant is for the animal style beef and the rest of the dishes I ordered deserves 0 stars. I am really dissapointed with the quality of the food that is being offered in this restaurant. The chef does to do justice to the abnoxiously high prices that they are charging for these below par dishes
Update: First of all I request the owner to not take a defensive stance on all of the negative reviews and take a more positive attitude towards criticism, we as costumers are posting these reviews so that you can improve on your shortcomings and improve your restaurant
No 1: I did tell the server about the saltiness in the fish n chips and the waitor awkwardly smiled and took the plate
No 2 : The meat in the beef wellinton might be cooked medium well as default but not all customers like to chew these meat for hours and literally needing a chainsaw to cut these hard meat as the steaks were very chewy and hard, I normally prefer well done steaks
No 3 :I personally beleive after my experience that the food did not meet my high levels of expectation and as individuals we have a right to our own opinion and there is no need to become salty about it (pun unintended)
No 4: Since we are discussing the situation frankly let me tell you that after having your food i became a little sick and have been taking antibiotics for 2 days but i did gave you the benefit of and considered the possibility that it might be due to my sensitive stomach but i beleive that it might be due to the undercooked meat that i had there
Anyway I request the owner to be respectful and considerate towards the customers rather than threatening to call the cybercell on people as you threatened one of the customers that put a negative review below, pride is good but ego and complex will never earn you anything good and will be detrimental for...
Read moreThough available for delivery, one of those dish which demands a dine-in is steak, for me. For the same reason, it's been more than a year since I had it last. Had no confusion on where to try it first here in Trivandrum, after following Mahesh Kumar's drooling weekly updates here; Madison Street it is..
The warmth welcome by staffs makes even a fearful person comfortable in the haunted setting with the hanging skeleton, witches hat, eerie music etc. The digital menu on your phone, a small sanitiser spray bottle on your table and the masked staffs makes you comfortable against the current haunting pandemic as well.
Started off with a refreshing Iced Tea to quench my thirst and waited a bit for the soup and the starter. The Cream of Chicken tasted as expected and was rich in cream and chicken, though it was a tad cold for a soup. The accompanied starter, Minced Beef Croquettes awed us with its crunchiness 'n' softness and paired well with the served mayo.
The Penne Alfredo Pasta, again was as expected and tasted good with generous chunks of chicken. The Madison Beef Burger comes with the tag 'the most cheesy burger you could find'. Well, not debating on whether it is the most cheesiest or not; it defintely had generous spread of oozy cheese, juicy patty, a bit harder bacon strip and the usual suspects tucked inside those two luscious buns; it was those buns which made the burger stood out in style! Now the purpose of the visit, Beef Fillet Steak; opted for medium, with mushroom sause. The meat was so succulent and coupled to perfection with the mushroom sauce. Divine!!!
Winded up with a Water Melon juice and another Iced Tea. The dent of around 2.3k for three of us for one of the most satisfying dinner in recent past sounds perfect for the quality food and courteous service.
Had a good conversation with Mahesh while ordering (without knowing that it's Mahesh) and Varun post dinner - on their menu, on their other cafe Cricket Shack and their about to be opened take-away counter near Pattoor. Keep up the quality and bring us more innovative...
Read moreSeeing all the delicious posts about the Breakfast at Madison Street, I was eagerly waiting to get my grubby paws on them.
The day finally arrived.. Took a detour on the way to Office on May 25th after a night of heavy thunderstorms and raining Cats & Dogs.
Reached around 11-ish.. As they had just opened for the day, I was the first customer through the door :)
Without wasting anymore time, ordered the Full English breakfast.. The Lilliputian version is for wanna-be’s ;)
The nice waitress asked me if I preferred Tea/Coffee. Went for Tea. You also get a choice of either Beef or Pork Bacon.. How could I let go of my eternal love for Pork!! Went for the Pork option.
Price @ 275Rs(Full English Breakfast)
2 Slices of Bread Toast with Butter/ marmalade and Strawberry jam Fresh Juice Tea/Coffee Scrambled Eggs 4-5 strips of Bacon 3 slices of Chicken Ham Chunks of slightly fried Mushrooms 2 Chicken Sausages Baked Beans Grilled Tomato
As I was going through my Instagram feed, I was served 2 Nice and crispy slices of Bread Toast with some Butter/ marmalade and Strawberry jam on the side along with a cup of fresh orange juice. Took a sip of the juice. It was light and refreshing.. A perfect way to start the big Breakfast. The Bread Toast was finished off in no time.
Soon after, I was brought a cup of piping hot Tea and the main star of the Show.. A plate of Full English deliciousness.. See the pictures and decide for yourself.
As expected, the English breakfast was hearty and fulfilling. All the items on the plate outshone one another. Only negative I felt were the bacon strips which was quite dry and rubbery. Maybe because they were just heated up and not deep fried in Oil which would have definitely changed the taste for the better.
But as a whole was fully delighted with the English breakfast and wouldn’t have had it any other way. So if you wake up one fine morning and want to get your belly full at an affordable price, you know where to head to ;)
