Navya Bake Shop, Jawahar Nagar — Restaurant in Kerala

Had a quick stop-by to buy a Cake.

Plenty of flies inside the shop including two sitting right on the cashier's computer monitor which I showed the guy behind the counter. Their fly catcher machine (right above the cashier's counter was full to the brim and not cleaned or looked at for ages - no wonder there are flies in the shop. I suggested they clean this asap. Have a look the next time you are there! Asked for payment by card & the POS machine was shown to me. When I tapped my credit card, they said they had 'some issues' where credit card payments won't go through. Has anyone else faced this issue? Looks like they are deliberately avoiding payments through CC. Settled the bill via UPI Having settled the bill, waited for few moments; had to ask for the bill since there was no response from the cashier.

Well stocked, good layout & one staff did assist me with choosing the right cake for the ocassion.

The service might be good, BUT the staff have poor food handling, food hygiene and food safety habits. Was in the outlet a few minutes ago and saw the following :

one of the staff cleaned the front car park and then picked, dusted and moved the rubber mats in the front with his hands. He then walked back in and continued to handle food items in the bakery without washing hands.

I walked out immediately after seeing this and left my purchases behind . I wonder what happens behind the scenes when customers are not present.

What a great bakery! One of my favorites. Amazing selection of baked goods, delicious coffee, and well decorated interior.. Great neighborhood bakery. The staff is friendly and helpful.
