New to Kerala and found of this resturant name make me believe that they will serve Dosa in evening hours as well. And I jumped over to this place which was 12km from my place. While I reached and ordered plain onion dosa and wait.
Soon there comes a Dosa where i can bug curry leaves and its a big one. I overjoyed to check how onions looks inside and my curosity died when i saw onion is covered with battered and its still raw. I tried to stick my finger to check if I can eat this raw.
I then called up the service guy and mentioned him its RAW. Not sure he ubderstand what I said. He took that plate over and afyer 10 mins waiting i got another one. Surprise it is also have the same content except the Dosa is more crisp as the chef tried to cook battered onion inside.
I had to call them to explain again that, this is not how I want. I only want onion on the top no battered onion. The service guy called upon the Chwf himself and I explain him how a Onion Dosa is prepared. He staright faced told me that this is how people eat here. I said first of all there is no Onion plain Dosa on your menu and I am sure no one ordered it yet. I have been to many resturants and never saw such onion Dosa. So pls do not tell me how it is made. Rather learn.
I was upset and already lost interest to eat dosa. i asked for plain Dosa. They made me one and I ate that peacefully.
Thanks to the resturant that they did not charge me for all 3 Dosa and understand a customer pain. Thanks a lot for...
Read moreI recently dined at Pai Dosa with a friend, and our experience was a mixed bag. We ordered four dosas, Mysore paav, and coffee, and while some dishes shone, others fell short. The standout dosas were the Dundu Dosa, a unique fusion of flavors that worked surprisingly well, and the Mirchi Paneer Dosa, which was generously loaded with paneer. The Cheese Kada Bullseye Dosa was another highlight, with a brilliant combination of runny egg and melted cheese.
The Mysore paav and coffee were decent, and the sambar was commendable for its flavor. However, not all dishes hit the mark. The Cheese Roast was a letdown, lacking the depth of flavor we were expecting. The chutney was also subpar, failing to impress.
One thing that was noticeable throughout our meal was the quality of ingredients used - it was evident that Pai Dosa prioritizes good ingredients. However, this attention to detail and possibly the legacy of the establishment might be reflected in the prices, which felt slightly on the higher side.
Despite some inconsistencies, our overall experience at Pai Dosa was pretty good. With a bit of fine-tuning, particularly with their chutneys and some of the dosa varieties, this place could easily become a favorite. For now, it's a solid option for dosa lovers looking to try...
Read moreMy dining experience at the Pai Dosa 36 restaurant was far from what I had anticipated, deeply marred by a lack of cleanliness and attention to hygiene. It was immediately apparent upon being seated that the establishment does not uphold the standards one would expect from a restaurant.
The condition of the dining ware was particularly appalling. Both plates and glasses bore unsightly water marks, clear evidence that they had not been cleaned properly. This negligence towards basic hygiene practices made it difficult to enjoy the meal and raised serious concerns about the overall sanitation standards of the kitchen and dining area.
Furthermore, the ambiance of the restaurant was greatly diminished by the visible lack of upkeep, contributing to an unwelcoming dining environment. It is disheartening to witness such disregard for customer experience and health standards in a place that has the potential to offer a pleasant dining experience.
Regrettably, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Pai Dosa 36 restaurant to anyone looking for a clean and hygienic place to eat. It is imperative for the management to address these critical issues promptly to improve the dining experience for...
