Horrible experience!!!

Ambiance - 1/5 ⭐ They've tried to create a 'chinese' like restaurant but has put zero effort in maintaining it. I'll be sharing some photos that I've taken while at the restaurant. The windows were completely dirty. Even the plastering on the roof at one corner coming off. How can they ignore all these? Are we not paying for the whole experience??

Cleanliness - 1/5 ⭐ *Absolutely disgusted to see the way they have maintained the table. Didn't even feel like using the table salt and pepper kept on the table. The worst part was the Vinegar+soya mix kept on the table. I found a stainless steel spoon inside the very dirty glass jar. Do they not know about 10th std chemistry?? ( A spoon when kept in vinegar will get corroded resulting in the deposition of unhealthy salts making it inedible and dangerous) *The washroom was not at all well maintained. No soap inside the dispenser and no paper tissue inside the tissue dispenser box. The mirror in the washroom has never been cleaned and one of the taps was missing its handle. It's funny that the owner of the restaurant doesn't notice all these things.🤣

Food - 1/5 ⭐ Had to mention it at the end because it was so damn pathetic. Even the waiter was feeling so bad for us. I had ordered a sweet corn soup, chicken fried rice, chicken noodles and chilly chicken( with bone). Specially mentioned to bring everything hot. Sweet corn chicken soup- Returned it the very moment it was served because it was so damn cold. And was re- served after 10mins. Tasted good. Chicken fried rice - Returned it the very moment it was served because it was also cold. Was re-served later. Tasted not that good. Lacked salt. Chicken noodles - Returned it the very moment it was served because it was also cold. Was re-served later. Tasted not that good. Lacked salt. Chilly chicken - Returned it the very moment it was served because it was also cold. Was re-served later. I didn't eat much because i was disappointed with the whole experience. It was just bones coated with corn flour and made into chilly chicken.

So basically we returned all the food items that came on our table because it was not at all hot which was such a vibe killer. Also the most common thing that you can hear from nearby tables would be ' ottum chood illa foodinu' , ' food theere taste illa'..

Chiyang is the best place to go to, to get your evening ruined. Such a vibe killer. Highly disappointed. I can be 100% confident to say that I'm never going back...

They say this is one of the best chinese places in kochi. I'm from padamughal & a huge fan of chopstix(both kakkanad & palarivattom). Also a fan of Ming Palace, Hao ming of thrissur. Comparing to those places this one was kind of different. Some dishes were good, some were not upto mark. We started with soup- chicken noodle soup & cream of chicken soup. Chicken noodle was surprisingly good- even tastier than cream of chicken which is not as good as i expected. for starter we had chicken lollipop- one order serves 8 pieces.- it was tasty but there wasn't any sticky sweet spicy coating or any sauce which i found odd. usually chinese is all about the sauces - bt it was still tasty for main course we ordered schezwan fried rice(without pork), chicken Noodles & american chopseuy(without pork) along with dragon chicken & cantonese chicken(to try something different) Chopseuy was very dissapointing- i felt like having chinese 'chat' not chopseuy. Chillax serves the best chopseuy in kochi(unfortunately they are closed now). Dragon chicken was not the best- it was okay but not enough dragon flavour or cashew nuts. Cantonese chicken was too runny & chicken was overcooked(first time having overcooked chicken in a chinese place!!!!) - still it was tasty & had nice flavour which i loved Schezwan fried rice tasted like tomato rice & it was burnt so it tasted partly of charcoal- didnt like- also more egg than chicken Chicken noodles i expected it'll be the worst of the 3 but it was the best. totally loved it. it had huge pieces of chicken, egg & loads of spring onion & veggies - very flavourful the food we ordered initially was actually enough for 8 people- so the waiter suggested we cut down on the portions. so we had dragon chicken,noodles & fried rice in half portions The service is excellent. the place is famous for pork- had we ordered that we might've enjoyed more. But in this case we ordered chicken items & only liked cantonese chicken, chicken noodles, chicken lollipop & chicken noodle soup. overall a good experience ps: for those who plan to go always confirm with the waiter about portion size of each dish...

The best restaurants during old times.....Malaya, Ceylon Bake house, Chiyang....

Malaya (the one in kacheripadi during 1990's got closed) Ceylon bake house keeps there quality, only the issue is the parking. Chiyang, now servers the worst...

My family had very high fan base for chiyang since 1995. We started from chiyang kacheripadi, but during that time (1990 - 1995) the food that chiyang was very down, as the star was "MALAYA" restaurant..that was the authentic chinese restaurant in Ernakulam....but it was closed, after closing of malaya, I hope that chef came to chiyang, the chiyang was the star...but now a days what you guys server is very disaster food, if we order chilli chicken with bone or boneless, there will only be 3-5 small pieces and rest is maida-cornflower coating, yesterday too we bought fried rice and chilli chicken, but the food was of very bad quality. After eating we all say we should never buy from chiyang, but due to our old best memories, we order from there again...

anyone who have from chiyang should inspect the Chinese dishes such as chilli chicken, garlic chicken..with or without bone, you will find 85% of it is maida and cornflower..

One day I bought 2 chicken noodles and when reached home in one hour..it was of sour taste...I called them and told the issue and they refused refund...we have bought noodle multiple times and have not faces such an issue....

To chiyang management.....please try to bring your old food quality standards...as I was a fan of you in olden days....

Also if there is any food quality officer who can check the issue, please fix the problem...as they as cheating provide lots of maida, people don't know it as it's tastes good and sees it as...
