I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The prices were exorbitant, yet the quality, quantity, and cleanliness left much to be desired. If they at least maintained a clean environment, the cost might have felt somewhat justified—but that was clearly not the case.
The place mats were filthy, stained from previous diners, and visibly unwashed. It was disturbing to have my plate placed on someone else's curry stain. The lack of basic hygiene was hard to ignore.
Adding to the disappointment, the service was just as frustrating. Getting the attention of the waiters was nearly impossible, and they didn’t even bother to refill the drinking water. Despite this, the restaurant automatically adds staff contribution charges to the bill (which they would gracefully remove if the customer demands). With such high prices on every item, shouldn't they ensure fair wages for their staff instead of depending on customer tips to supplement their earnings?
As for the food—it was okay at best, but with the unhygienic setting, I couldn’t enjoy it.
They proudly display awards they've received, but after this experience, I can only hope those trophies aren't resting on the same stained place-mats as everything else in the restaurant.
As for returning—I'll pass. And I appreciate the standard, copy-paste response which they'll likely provide to...
Read moreVisited Punjab Grill,Forum Mall for dinner and writing this review right after coming out. Was really surprised at how insipid the food was.The galouti Mutton kebabs didn't taste like mutton at all nor was there any taste nor did they have the 'melt-in-the-mouth' texture you'd normally associate these kebabs with. Costing a bomb, which I'm okay with, but give me the quality you'd associate with that price range, and I'll be okay with it. The Dal tadka we ordered alongside seemed bereft of the tadka or if at all it was there, it needs a massive improvement. The mixed Veg was strictly average. The Naans and Veg kurkure were decent. And when we ordered Masala papad, we ordered two in number masala papads yet the waiter never bothered to inform us that one plate has 3 and brought us two plates which had a total of 6. When we asked he said ki "aapne bola isliye main laaya" very clearly overlooking the fact that he could've informed us then which he didn't. I've eaten at other Punjab Grill outlets across the country but don't think I've ever had an experience like this. When the prices are premium, we do expect great food and service which unfortunately was missing on this occasion.Do better guys, you've got a brand name...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant during a visit to Forum Mall, as we’re big fans of Punjabi cuisine and wanted to give it a try. The food was genuinely delicious — no complaints there! However, pricing is on the higher side compared to other Punjabi restaurants in the city. A few things to note:
The wash area is quite small and located inside the closed dining space, which resulted in a queue. There are no restrooms inside the restaurant — customers need to use the public facilities in the mall.
We were also surprised to find a ₹200 tip automatically added to the bill, and that amount was included in the GST calculation. When we inquired, the manager couldn’t give a clear explanation but said he could provide a revised bill without the tip if needed. Honestly, it felt a bit uncomfortable, so we just paid the full amount (around ₹2,000+).
Service-wise, even though there were only a few tables occupied, the waiting time was a bit long.
If you’re not in a hurry and want to enjoy some tasty Punjabi food, this place might work for you. But if you're looking for authentic flavors at a more reasonable price, Kochi city has plenty of great options...
