Rahmaniya Kethel's Chicken — Restaurant in Kerala

TOO COSTLY & TOO HYPED!!

Went many times with friends there, but surely NOT recommend anyone who search for variety dishes in a reasonable price. For 8 pieces of tender chicken fries + chappathies (which are really small of course), you will cost rs 210. You may have to have 24 pieces at least if you are hungry enough, which means approx. 630 rs you are paying on an average. They provide NO online payment option; ONLY CASH payment is available. You WILL NOT GET any BILL, you will never know individual price of each items and I wonder how they manage to memorize each customer's order and do calculations in mind. (May be fans can say that's what legends do; Ustad Hotel - mamukoya ft) Clearly they are either NOT paying any GST or they are creating false bills for tax evasion even they are advertising the 'traditional' tagline. Obviously they are bribing the officers for sure. I have no idea why they are giving the chicken gravy like thing, it taste nothing special, but worse like chicken waste water with salt and oil. You may have to wait for long time since only LIMITED SEATS are there. If you are not a fan of spicy dishes, step away. Its chicken fry with chilli flakes spreaded all over to make it extremely spicy. Toilets are NOT HYGIENIC and are out side the premises of the restaurant which feels unsafe for ladies. Washing area also not hygienic where people dump the food waste in a box. No parking space available. I'm only providing 1 star since I never faced any stomach issues after having food from here. They need to learn from restaurants like Paragon which provides extreme customer satisfactions and good facilities without sticking to the traditionalism thing to...

Happened to visit this legendary eatery in Chalai Bazar. Their main specialty is their combo meal of either chappathi, chicken curry & spring chicken fry, along with their lemon pickle & lime juice OR ghee rice, raitha, pappadam, lemon pickle, lime juice, chicken curry & spring chicken fry. The only problem here, is the location itself. no exclusive parking space. Since its a bazar area, you have to park far & walk to this small space, which is inside a narrow way. If you are visiting here during heavy rains, you are done for the day. This small narrow path gets flooded & you literally have to wade through the dirty waters, till you reach the main bus-stop. We had such experience, just few months back. Dining space is very limited. If its full, you have to wait in queue & wait for your turn. So just for trying out the legendary Kethel's Chicken, we didn't think of the rains. It is better to visit here in the summer time. Apart from the Spring Chicken fry, they also have liver fry. So, if you want to try the original Kethel's Chicken fry at Chalai, do visit on your own risk. You will enjoy the fry for sure, for its traditional hand-picked chilly flakes seasoning.
