Raravis this time super disappointed. Reached tellichery at 2:00pm and we were hungry as it was lunch time and we decide to eat from tellichery. As I used to eat from Raravis before, I decided to eat from there and also told my family that they serve the best biriyani in town. They were offering in car dining. But unfortunately rain stopped us from having food there. So we took the food home. Was so very hungry as we ate lunch at 4:00pm.
Food#1 tellichery dum biriyani :- The best biriyani in tellichery proved to be the worst. It was made of leghorn chicken and meat was so hard that my grandma gave both pieces to me as she couldn't eat. If you think I was lucky, then you are wrong. With the 🍗, she gave me some real malayalam words and also told me not to buy food from that "hotel" in future. She don't know about Rara avis or MVK. For her all are "hotel" and I don't think she ever heard "restaurant" in her life. But she is good at making food and the best critic I know. Off course of Malabari food and of this century Kerala food like shawarma, Chinese, and alfam (malayalam for al faham) Now back to biriyani. It tasted really odd for a tellichery biriyani and was with less flavor and aroma. Normal restaurants nearby my place(kannur dharmasala) serves better biriyani than them. I don't know what happened to the chefs there who prepared food when I ate from them before. Food#2 chicken Fried Rice:- As my family consists of some young members who prefered Chinese than biriyani bought fried rice. As the biriyani and the hype collapsed like house of cards and I was looking for something good to eat, I turned to my youngest "fried rice" sister to ask for a share and she who I thought will rage at me like a sivakami devi casually and with great disappointment in her face told me to eat the balance on the aluminum box which was like more than half. Only ketchup was given as side dish and normal items like soya sauce, chilly vinegar was missing. The fried rice was salty. Without soya sauce and vinegar, it didn't taste good and that reasons my sister being kaviyoor ponnamma than sivakami devi. As I didnt eat from the restaurant, I can't comment on the service part but I must mention the staffs who were working in the car park to provide the parcels did an excellent job as it was raining and they were running from car to car serving the food. Rar Avis, Kudos to your management for providing innovative solutions like in car dining at this time. And the staffs in the parking lot does a good job running from car to car. But we need good food. We are normal people who expect that you 'branded restaurant' give us superior food than our local village restaurants. We drive, travel in bus to your restaurant on a special occasion or when we get bonuses or when we think of treating our family or friends once in a while thinking that we will get something better than normal. Something extra ordinary. Don't disappoint us. Don't make the person who took people there to eat a 'fool' in front of their family or friends.
No photos this time as hunger made me a monster than a...

I'm thrilled to share my latest experience at Rara Avis, and it's even more special this time around! My family and I visited again today, and we were treated to a new dish that the senior staff highly recommended – Lemon Paneer. I must say, it's a game-changer! The moment we took a bite, we knew we had to give it a glowing review. The flavors were spot on, and the variety was impressive. My wife and kids absolutely loved it, and I could see the excitement in their eyes.
The food, as always, was outstanding, with each dish expertly prepared and presented. The service remained top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making for a wonderful dining atmosphere.
I'm also delighted to see that Rara Avis has addressed my previous concern about accessibility! They've installed an elevator, making it much easier for elderly or mobility-impaired individuals to access the restaurant. Kudos to the management for taking this step towards inclusivity.
Overall, I highly recommend Rara Avis for its culinary excellence, exceptional service, and now, improved accessibility. The Lemon Paneer is a must-try, and I'm sure it will become a favorite among regulars. If you're a Thalassery food lover like me, Rara Avis is definitely the spot to visit.
