Vayalil Hotel — Restaurant in Kerala

Went to the restaurant for lunch, but it was incredibly busy with all the seats occupied. While the ambiance was average, it had a good dining capacity. I decided to order a meal, that had white rice, some side dishes, pickles, and papadam. It turned out to be a satisfying choice, and I also tried their fish fry and lime juice. Everything I ordered was enjoyable, with the meal priced at 60 rs, the fish fry at 105 rs for tuna, and the lime juice at 25 rs. However, the downside was the slow service; it felt like the restaurant could benefit from hiring more staff, given its bustling nature. On a positive note, the washroom and wash area were clean, and the restaurant was easily accessible, although only street parking was available.

My favourite place in trivandrum for Mutton roast!!!

I'am a regular customer of this place for more than 10 years now.. The same taste and legacy continues.. I've introduced this place to a few of my friends and everyone loved it.

This is situated in a rather busy street and hence finding car parking etc. may be a challenge. Also don't expect much ambience.. There is a small family room. Overall average in terms of ambience. But their service is always good. Also I've never felt any issues regarding cleanliness.

I recently visited Vayalil Hotel, hoping to relive the good experience I had here about a year ago. Unfortunately, it was a letdown this time.

🍛 Tried their biryani, and the taste was not at all worth the price. The flavors felt bland and lacked freshness. Compared to how good it used to be, the quality has definitely dropped.

👎 What disappointed me more was the service – staff seemed uninterested and slow, with no proper attention to customers. I had to remind them multiple times just to get basic things served.

It’s sad to see a place that once had great food and service go downhill like this. I wouldn’t recommend it unless they bring back the quality they were once known for.
