I had the chance to dine at this restaurant recently, and overall, it was a satisfying experience with a few areas that could use some improvement.

To start with the positives—the porotas here are excellent. They’re soft, nicely layered, and have that perfect golden crisp on the outside. You can tell they’re freshly made, and they pair well with most of the sides. The noodles were also a highlight. They were cooked just right—not too oily, not too dry—and had a great balance of flavors.

Among the noodle options, the paneer noodles stood out to me the most. The paneer was soft and well-marinated, blending perfectly with the spices and vegetables. It’s definitely something I’d come back for, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Indo-Chinese style dishes.

That said, not everything hit the mark. Some of the curries served alongside the porotas were overly salty. It was noticeable enough to affect the taste and enjoyment of the meal. I ended up avoiding most of the curry and just eating the porotas on their own or with a lighter dip. It felt like the seasoning wasn’t balanced properly, which was a bit disappointing considering how good the rest of the food was.

The ambiance of the restaurant was decent—nothing fancy, but comfortable enough for a casual meal. Service was okay, though it could be slightly more attentive, especially during busy hours.

All in all, this restaurant serves up some great porotas and delicious noodles, especially if you're a fan of paneer. With just a little attention to detail—particularly in terms of salt levels in the curries—this place has the potential to be even better. I’d still recommend it, especially for a quick, tasty meal at a...

I recently dined at Astoria Veg Restaurant, and I'd like to share my experience. Please note that my review pertains exclusively to the restaurant itself, excluding any opinions about hotel rooms.

We opted for lunch at Astoria Veg Restaurant, and I must say it was a satisfying experience. The highlight was their unlimited meal option priced under 180 rupees per person. Given this price range, the value offered was exceptional. It's a fantastic deal for those seeking a budget-friendly yet fulfilling dining experience.

What impressed me was the prompt service. Our food arrived swiftly, ensuring we didn't have to wait too long to indulge in our meal. The quality of the food was commendable, especially considering the reasonable price point. The cuisine leaned towards South Indian flavors, offering a taste of traditional dishes.

It's worth noting that the popularity of Astoria Veg Restaurant was evident from the crowd. The place was bustling with patrons, a testament to its reputation in the local culinary scene.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a pocket-friendly restaurant with a quick service, delicious South Indian cuisine, and a great deal on an unlimited meal, Astoria Veg Restaurant is an excellent choice. It offers good value for money without compromising on taste...

Food is good but the customer service is exceptional!!! So I'm a doctor who has duties in various other villages nearby kodaikanal after my shift from perumalmalai I reached kodaikanal bus stop felt very hungry so decided to have my lunch here it was busy so I asked the manager for a seat he sat me down on a six seater table which had 3 other customers already who were leaving I sat there ordered my food and waited a family of 6 people came there was a four seater next to my table they sat there and the remaining 2 people sat in my table at this time I had already started eating so this uncle from the family called a waiter and asked him to move me from the table the waiter replied that I have already occupied the seat the uncle thinking that I dont know hindi he told him that I only came after they arrived and that they should give preferences to groups instead of a single person and waiter Mr Krishna was very kind he defended me saying that doesn't matter if its a group or one customer we treat them equally and he quickly managed to find another table for the family .. shame on that elderly uncle he had his family with him what example is he trying to set for them is to treat people miserably and lie... but thanks to Mr Krishna genuine kind...

Astoria Vegetarian Restaurant is a very good quality vegetarian restaurant available in Kodiakanal . Situated right in the heart of the city ie just near to the Kodaikanal Bus Station . it's easy to find and perfect for a meal during your kodaikanal sightseeing . The place is very neat and food is served very fresh and the main thing I need to tell is the hospitality of the staff. The restaurant is having a very good south Indian vegetarian options. The menu has a wide variety of veg options — from South Indian classics like dosas and idlis to North Indian dishes and comforting meals. Every food are freshly prepared and flavorful. The service is quick and the staff is polite and very helpfl. The place is usually busy, but they manage the crowd efficiently and we need to wait atleast a 15 minutes to get a seat. The rush is only because of the quality of the food and the staff behaviour. It is maintained very Clean, reasonably priced, and consistently good . we can say that definitely one of the best veg restaurant in kodaikanal town.

Astoria Veg is a must-visit hotspot in Kodaikanal for anyone craving authentic South Indian food. The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable, and the place is almost always buzzing with happy customers, a clear sign that they’re doing something right. Their crispy dosas are a crowd favourite, perfectly golden and served with delicious chutneys and sambar that elevate every bite. The lunch meals are equally impressive, hearty and satisfying with a variety of flavours that leave you feeling full and content. The filter coffee here is top-notch too, strong and aromatic with that perfect South Indian kick. The taste lingers pleasantly on your tongue long after the last sip. The staff are friendly, quick, and attentive, ensuring a smooth and satisfying dining experience. Whether you’re a local, a returning visitor, or a first-timer in Kodai, Astoria Veg serves up flavour, warmth, and tradition in every bite.
