Katina Cafe in Kodaikanal is a delightful spot that truly stands out for its delicious desserts, mini pizzas, and exceptional coffee offerings. If you have a sweet tooth, you’re in for a treat—their desserts are simply divine. The Canadian Walnut Pie, in particular, is a must-try, with its perfect balance of sweetness and texture, making it the ideal companion for a cup of their expertly brewed filter coffee. I tried their filter coffee, and it was a standout, offering the rich, authentic flavor that coffee lovers crave. Of course, they offer various other coffee options as well, catering to different tastes.
But Katina Cafe isn’t just about sweets and coffee. Their Assorted Mini Pizzas are equally impressive. After a morning of exploring or boating around Kodaikanal, these pizzas are the perfect way to refuel. Each bite is packed with flavor, and the assortment offers something for everyone.
One of the best things about Katina Cafe is the value for money. In a town known for its tourist traps, this cafe offers high-quality food at reasonable prices, making it a favorite among both locals and visitors. Whether you’re there for a quick snack or a leisurely meal, Katina Cafe is a must-visit when...
Read moreVibe is great! Unfortunately, that's all there is to the good things about this cafe.
We wanted to try hot chocolate but that was out of stock. We ordered sandwich, fries, cold coffee and pumpkin spiced latte. Both food items and cold coffee were okay, but they messed up pumpkin spiced latte. There is too much spice and and it overpowered coffee flavour. On requesting to correct it, they tried adding more espresso but it failed miserably. Then they offered an alternative and I went for Boba iced coffee. Again, the Boba is all clumped up and very chewy. On showing them the Boba clumps, they insisted that this is how Boba will be. Sharing the pics of Boba clumps for reference.
Bottom line: cafe is good for ambience, but limit yourself to basics life filter coffee or cold coffee. Exotics like spiced pumpkin latte and Boba coffee will break your heart for sure.
P.S.: Peri peri fries...
Read moreI have absolutely no idea how this place is rated so high. I had an artisanal sourdough Goan chorizo grilled cheese sandwich which costs ₹250 and I couldn't even find 10g of chorizo in it or taste it at all. When I asked them about it is when I got to know that it was pre-made, not sure when, at some other place and they just grill it and serve. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. My wife ordered a roast chicken wrap and it was basically chicken curry rolled in a chapathi.
When we asked the lady at the counter about it, she mentioned she can't do anything about it as food was pre made, god knows when, and they just heat and serve. Please find pictures attached for both.
I was shocked to see how disappointing the food was considering the ratings. Learned my lesson and we're never...
