Best place to grab Tibetian food and dare I say the best in the country. Countless reasons and some of them are in house noodle which are larger in size, the mix in the momos are flavoured brilliantly, the chilly beef is actually spice other than just chilly powder, the fried rice is perfectly flavoured all the way through and finally the ginger lemon tea finishes the meal to perfection.
Ambience: (4/5) It’s a small space with traditional table cloth and lighting. Only a few tables so you can expect to have a wait here. There is also a chance of things getting over, so suggest going in a bit early around 7:30pm.
Food: (5/5) I would easily give this place a 6/5 or more. The food is brilliant in terms of flavour, appearance and quantity. It is also serviced super fast. Started the meal with a tomato egg drop soup which has had this flavour since I have a little kid almost 25 years ago. Moved on to the momos. This was the first time I tried veg momos, but they were very very good. Cooked and seasoned super well. Then moved to the chowmein and the chilly beef. Both of my which are my all time favourites. Had a fried rice to try something new and finished with the ginger lemon tea which would help digest all that was eaten. All the flavours are so good especially the chowmein, the home made noodles and the oils that are being used made it tasty brilliant.
Summary: (5/5) Best Tibetian food hands down. If you are in kodai, this is a must visit. Coming from someone who grew up there for 18 years, this is one advice you should take. Have a...
Read moreThis restaurant is extremely overrated, especially given the glowing Google reviews it has received. Our dining experience was nothing short of disappointing, starting with the fact that the food was undercooked. The spaghetti, in particular, was served hard and far from the al dente standard, making it unpleasant to eat.
What made the situation worse was the alarming presence of hair in multiple dishes. This not only raised serious hygiene concerns but also ruined our appetite. We were expecting a quality meal but instead were left with poorly prepared food and an unsanitary experience.
Despite the high expectations set by the online reviews, the overall quality was terrible, and the food failed to meet even basic standards. We found nothing redeeming about this restaurant and were deeply dissatisfied with the meal we received. Given the uncooked food, lack of hygiene, and overall poor experience, we strongly advise you to skip this restaurant. It is, by far, one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. Save your time and money and look elsewhere for a...
Read moreRestaurant run by people who settled here (kodaikanal) from Tibet. Thus, they offer authentic oriental cuisine. This is a must try place for those having a liking for oriental cuisine.
The main course available are fried rice, chowmein, soup noodles and some varieties of bread. Along this they offer certain chicken, beef and mutton side dishes.
We had hot and sour soup (5/5), chicken egg fried rice (4/5), chicken chowmien (4/5), chicken soup noodles (2/5), Tibetan bread (5/5), beef fry (5/5).
Fried rice and chicken chowmein were well made and served hot. I would suggest them to customize a little to suit individual's taste preferences. The soup noodles was a little let down as it felt watery and blant. The best was Tibetan bread. We tried it for the first time. It was soft, fluffy and went well with the spicy beef fry. The beef was well cooked.
