Alfresco has always had a bustling buffet scene. Despite many new fine-dining restaurants offering buffet menus, one of the most go-to places for brunch, lunch or dinner is Alfresco. Tucked away in the heart of the city, this is a calm and fabulous place to start your weekend with good eats. One of the weekends, we walked in for a lavish dinner buffet to refresh our minds and pamper our taste buds after a sultry Sunday afternoon. The elegance and exquisiteness of the restaurant do not just impress but also expresses the grandeur of old Calcutta. Even though the ambience is very uplifting, the seating arrangements and comfort was displeasing and troublesome. Despite our irritation for the seating arrangement, we enjoyed the impeccable service and scrumptious buffet spread laid across the centre of the restaurant. Alfresco is definitely not the name you come across every day and I will tell you how much it needs more limelight. We can see various of restaurants and cafes springing up every day in every nook and corner of the city but we ultimately fail to give the best ones the hype it deserves. Alfresco is one of the best 5-star buffets in town that has a wide range of cuisines and the variety within the cuisines will leave you awestruck. The food quality is just maintained way to well and then comes the food presentation and staff service. I was more than delighted to have been able to spend a quality time here with family. Alfresco is one of the few restaurants in kolkata where you have the sky above your head and lotus pond by your side. The atmosphere is exactly what you want it to be. The ambience is really good and cosy with an array of lights hanging from the ceiling. On top of it the selection of the variety of menu on the buffet is unique and heavenly.
