Bar-B-Q Rollover — Restaurant in Kolkata

Had asked for a Reshmi kebab and they gave me one which was there on display. I asked them whether they make fresh grilled kebabs or not and the person at the shop assured that he had just recently grilled it and they would just grill it a bit more and parcel it so that it is served hot and fresh. After getting back home we transferred the kebab to a serving bowl just to realise that it is stale and was smelling. I immediately called them and told them about the smell and they asked me to take it back. The lady at the shop and the young boy literally did not want to admit that it was stale and said that the smell was coming from the container that we took back the kebab in (as we had thrown away the plastic wrapping in which they had given us) and the lady instead started arguing that their kebabs are always fresh and they have loads of customers that come regularly and they are rather seeing me first time. The boy returned the money however but the lady kept on arguing with arrogance and attitude.

1stly in the food business it is always a duty to serve fresh food as it is a consumable item that may result in sickness if it is stale.

2ndly if a customer actually finds stale food being served and takes the pain to spend more money on petrol to drive back in a rainy day and report this, it is atleast basic human etiquette to own up for the mistake and apologize for such an incident rather than arguing with bad attitude and trying to prove that person wrong.

Over all a horrible experience and I would not recommend anyone to go through this.

When they initially opened they were serving fresh and juicy Kebabs and I was a regular. Now a days they serve stale kebabs in spite of insisting on serving fresh ones. The last few times I was there, they served kebabs that were hard as a rock and i had to throw it away. Steam Momo is very good though...
