A few years ago, I went there to buy laddus. I bought 60 laddus and asked the staff to pack 6 laddus in each box, but they said they wouldn't do that and packed them all in one large box, and only gave me two smaller boxes when I insisted. We complained to the owner, who was there with his friends, co-owners, or perhaps family members, who were also looking into the matter. But it seemed the staff was following his instructions. So when I asked them for more boxes, they also refused. Before I bought them, the owner was talking to each other about how other well-known brands nearby were selling laddus at higher prices, much smaller sizes, and made with palm oil. When I went out the gate, I have seen a huge amount of boxes and laddus, which the co-owner and staff were packing for a large order, saying that one packet was sufficient for a small order. Eventually, we had to buy additional boxes from other sweet shops because we had to distribute them. I used to buy laddus every year during Diwali and whenever I bought them, I got the appropriate number of boxes according to the number of laddus, but the staff and owner here are very scary, greedy, selfish, and arrogant. The quality of the laddus was also mediocre. For your information, Gangotri Sweets I am not asking for free packet boxes, I paid for them so you should give them to me. I will not recommend this sweet...
Read moreVisiting Kolkata for the first time during the scorching summer heat was a challenge, especially as a vegetarian. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I stumbled upon Gangotri Sweets and Snacks through Zomato delivery!
Their Kachori (tiny puffed puris) was a revelation, filled with small kalonji hing flavors. Surprisingly, I found them even more delightful than the luchis! The Aloo Matar Sabzi and Dahi Vada were perfectly seasoned, and the Rasgullas were incredibly spongy, melting in the mouth with every bite.
Utilizing Zomato for ordering in Kolkata's sweltering heat was a smart move, allowing me to enjoy these delectable treats without enduring the outdoor weather. In fact, it feels like I discovered a new slogan: "Beat the heat: Order on Zomato" – a surefire way to relish tasty meals while staying cool and comfortable.
Oh, and not to forget, their plain dosa was a delightful addition! If you're in Kolkata and craving vegetarian delights, Gangotri Sweets and Snacks via Zomato is the place to go. Highly...
Read moreHi all,
Please don't order dosa of any king from the resturant as they don't know how to actually prepare it. They don't even consider using salt in masala. Further, chutney given by them is mostly tasteless. Sambar is very sweet and you all wouldn't even have it after one bite, I bet.
PS - Not commenting or posting review after having only once. This resturant has disappointed me multiple times. Also, this review is restricted only for dosa, you can definitely have other options.
Thank you...
