Doesn't deserve a single star. I visited twice, and both times the wow exp was missing. The first time, we reached around 4 pm, and there was already a crowd of hungry customers wondering when they will get served. We were told point-blank that they are not taking orders. Came back an hour later and they were serving customers again. When I asked the guy who takes orders, why he refused to serve us, he had no answer. Apparently, they need a lesson or two in communications and customer-centricity. They could have been honest and said that there will be a waiting time of one hour instead of refusing to serve on the face.
The second time we got there at 3 pm and still they took an hour to serve us even when we were the first customers. Apparently, they wait to take all the current orders and all the customers are made to wait till all the orders are ready. and of course, it doesn't matter who ordered first and who ordered last if you are lucky to be in the front of the line when the food is ready you will thank your luck that u got served. Even good old Radhu Babu's has better queue management and serves faster than this.
Coming to the best part, the food!
One would imagine for all the hype and the waiting the food would have to be superb. But sorry to say that was a disappointment.
The snowy cheese fries "Crispy fried chicken with the goodness of chess" can be renamed "KFC chicken with cheese popcorn flavor". The Gang Jeong chicken tasted like paper dipped in barbeque sauce. The Kimchi salad is basically veggies dunked in vinegar. The star of the menu no doubt is the half-n-half-corn dogs. Compared to the rest of the menu, it does stand out, more due to the concept of fried cheese exterior and less due to its taste. Skewered sausages rolled in cheese that gets deep-fried. Taste wise I felt a little salt would do well to balance the sweetness. The sausages inside don't get cooked and give off a raw taste. Not something id like to come back for again. All said and tasted, I won't be sorry to bid adieu to the entire experience of Yum Yum Korean Bucket. Am sure Korean Food tastes awesome but not at this Joint, it doesn't. Don't raise your hopes and don't get fooled by the Insta Hype. Instagrammers wd do anything to get...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Yum Yum Korean Bucket on Jatin Bagchi Road, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. This Korean restaurant exceeded my expectations in terms of both food quality and service.
One of the standout dishes that I tried was the Korean Corn Dog Sweet. The presentation was excellent, and the taste was even better. The corn dog was perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. The combination of the slightly sweet batter and the savory filling was absolutely delicious. It was evident that great attention was given to maintaining the authenticity of the Korean flavors.
I was also impressed with the serving style at Yum Yum Korean Bucket. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. The staff members were attentive and friendly, providing prompt service throughout my visit. They were knowledgeable about the menu and gladly answered any questions I had, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
Additionally, the overall food quality at Yum Yum Korean Bucket was commendable. Each dish I sampled was prepared with fresh ingredients, and the flavors were well-balanced. Whether it was the mouthwatering Korean corn dogs or other offerings from their menu, the taste and presentation were consistently impressive.

In the wake of the pandemic, a culinary sensation emerged on Kolkata's streets – Yum Yum Korean Basket. With crowds swarming around their food truck, curiosity got the better of us, and we ventured into the frenzy.
Anticipation was high, knowing that Yum Yum specialized in authentic Korean flavors. Yet, a challenge was set for us due to their predominantly non-vegetarian offerings. We embraced the opportunity to indulge our carnivorous companions and glean their insights.
Our culinary journey began with Gang Jeong Fried Chicken and Swicy (Sweet+Spicy) Fried Chicken – known to be their signature dishes. However, the applause from our non-vegetarian contingent fell short of the anticipated crescendo. The fried chicken, while good, didn't fully justify the hype surrounding it.
The Samyang 2x Ramen and Korean Corn Dog, both tantalizing in appearance, aroused curiosity. Yet, the verdict from our food enthusiasts echoed a hint of disillusionment. The ramen, though authentically Korean, left them contemplating whether the same experience could be replicated with store-bought ingredients. The Korean Corn Dog emerged as a standout, redeeming the culinary experience with its flavorful charm.
As for the vegetarian fare, the Cheesy Kimchi Ramen provided solace to herbivores seeking a taste of Korea.
Notably, we've heard whispers of Yum Yum's expansion into a cafe – an intriguing prospect that may mark an evolution in their culinary journey.
Our dining expedition at Yum Yum Korean Basket left us with mixed feelings. While the allure of authentic Korean cuisine emanates from the truck, the nuances of quality and value occasionally waver. With a yearning for consistency and heightened expectations, we remain hopeful for the emergence of Yum Yum as an enduring presence on Kolkata's...
