.In Bowbazar, Kolkata, "Bhim Chandra Nag" is one of the best sweet shops I have ever experienced. The behaviour of the staff is so nice. The quality of the sweets is premium and so tasty. This sweet shop, which can be called an authentic sweet shop in Kolkata, is located in Bowbazar. Over the years, they used to serve decent and quality sweets. And the best part is that the price of the items in the shop is, in my opinion, very reasonable. I will recommend that every visitor visit the shop once to taste the sweets available there. Besides, it has a great interior that is well furnished and equipped with amazing lights and an impressive dining table. Get its proper location and address details. You can dine in, take out, or order online, i.e., through Zomato, Sweety, or any other online platform if it's available. Desserts are also available at a fair price. Read moreOne of the popular sweet shops in Kolkata, Bhim Chandra Nag was set up by Paran Chandra Nag in 1826 in Bowbazar. A pioneer in making sandesh, it continues to retain its popularity till date. Today, it is one of the most renowned sweet shops in the city with only two outlets (Nirmal Chandra Street and Vivekananda Road). The sweet shop is known for inventing delicacies such as ladikeni (named after Lady Canning who was the wife of the then British governor Lord Canning) and ashubhog sandesh (named after the distinguished educationist Sir Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay), among others. With changing time, they have also understood the varying taste of customers and have come up with several varieties of sweets. The traditional chhanar sandesh has given way to new kinds of sweets, such as chocolate flavoured, mango flavoured and even sugar-free sandesh. It has also introduced dilkhush, abar khabo, kada pak sandesh, jolbhora, manohara and various other sweets that have impressed the new generation. Do try their Alphonso sandesh—the rich taste of mango will stay in your mouth for hours. Source-...
Read moreThe sweets are tasty but we were scammed into buying sweets which goes bad easily. We asked for 'bonde'. The person cheated us by packing 'mihidana'. And no it was not a human error. The customer before us asked for Bonde and the person who packed verbally confirmed it as mihidana. Then the customer corrected it to bonde. Given that bhim naag is an old and prestigious sweet shop plus they charge premium rate for sweets, we did not expect that they will be fraudulent.
Dear Bhim Naag owners, you charge premium rate for an almost average quality of limited variety of sweets, at the very least Please stop scamming...
