Had been hearing about this for so long...Ahhh! At Last one of our desire list has sorted today.. I like the cafe very much.. the ambiance and the interior. It was spanking really. I also liked their service and behaviour and one thing was best about them they do not share couple seats to other people and maintain the privacy.
Now coming to the food.. each and every item was condign as per their prices. Lipsmacking delicacies was served for us and our taste buds really enjoyed the sapid items.
Our delightful orders were♡♡♡♡♡
》MOCKTAILS: ●Blue Lagoon (recommend by blue mug) /-140 - I was really happy with my decision of ordering blue lagoon. Really it was refreshing and full of sweet and sour smack. Presented with a half lemon and ice. ●Virgin mojito + Add on flavour /- 150+30 - we took the kiwi flavoured virgin mojito and trust me we felt best mojito ever. With each and every sip i can feel the pieces of kiwi and it was wondrous.
》APPETIZERS ●Apricot chicken wings /- 170 - oh! Wow ..it was just wow and i still cannot passed into oblivion..sometimes crunchy outside and juicy inside this chicken dish was really very malleable..Though a lil bit of spicy but it will not make incense the non spicy food lover people. ●Prawns of heaven /-250 - it was the most tasty dish for me that day. The prawns were actually fried and tossed in sauce and it tastes great.
》MAIN COURSE ●Jumbo non veg platter /- 380 - we were really gratified by the plate. It was enough for two people and worth for the main course orders. Plate was full of Mixed sea food, chicken shaslik, chicken kebab, rice, sauteed veggies and french fries) It was really very tasty and significant dish to satisfy your stomach desire. ●Mixed sea food sizzler /-250 - it was the power pack platter to satisfy your stomach.. combination of fresh seafood sauteed veggies, lemon butter sauce and served with French fries. And it was so tender and tasty. Enough for two people if anyone is out of budget.
》SHAKES & SMOOTHIES ●Red velvet shake /-200 - I became mad seeing its presentation. It was topped with whipped cream and red velvet cake. Colour was luscious and I was not able to resist myself. Taste was really staggering. I am recommending this shake to everyone. ●Snicker shake /- 180 - frist of all presentation was beautiful. And it tastes really thick and great. truly Toungue satisfaction actually
Although they have seating arrangements outside.. but the place is always very crowded and you have to wait for sometimes. But their food and service won't disappoint you. Music was charming and the guitar interior and the kettle lights will just blow your mind ... but if you are a really big foodie then 700 Rs for two is actually a mistake. We two actually paid 1838 for us. So be careful 😁 but definitely A must...
Read moreI, very rarely write reviews because most people who run a business, understand how critical it has become to deliver unparalleled service in this ever competitive space. More so in the hospitality business. My wife & I decided to go to Blue Mug for dinner & honestly it turned out to quite a miserable outing. I do not expect special treatment and neither should anybody else but for businesses entirely dependent on customers walking in, whatever the source may be, it becomes a moral responsibility to be conscious of how they conduct themselves. Here are some implicitly atrocious things that happened at Blue Mug which made me feel the restaurant basically does not care about its guests and its only a matter of clearing the table to accomodate more & more people. We entered and there was a queue. I actually felt happy that the business was good. A win. I politely enquired with the man behind the counter about how long before we could get a table for 2. He looked appalled that I so much as spoke to him. Dismissed me immediately & said there was a 30 minute wait. Fine man. At least have the courtesy to take my number so you could call when we could sit for dinner. But no. This shows that there are enough people coming to the joint and anyone can go away if they are not willing to wait. Very peculiar. Rude even. We waited regardless. Eventually, a table became available. We were seated. I am at a loss of words at how disgusted I am with the service staff. However, good the food a place may have, which is not the case here, if the service is ordinary, it could go down fast. We asked for glasses on our table so we could drink some water. This bit took the wait staff 15 minutes. FIFTEEN. Even with mega rush, which had subdued by then, it is the most basic start of a meal function. Anyway, we ordered & when the food came, they paid zero attention to the dearth of space at our table. Ideally, the wait staff have the courtesy to ask if they should come back later. But here, the great workers at Blue Mug just could not care less. Also, zero observational skills. We had no water in the bottle at our table and the wait staff was literally standing right there. You wont get unless you ask. I know it could get blurry because of the work they do but still, a fair ask. The food is not fairy tale either. I mean, sure, but the experience matters more if you ask me.
Avoid this place and go to a nearby...
Read moreIt was a dreadful experience.
Thanks to a rainy weekend, there was a considerable waiting for a table, and we did wait (about 20mins) for the much hyped Blue Mug Cafe experience. First let me mention the food we tried:
Crispy Fried Chicken - 4⭐️ [The crust was well balanced, being just the right spicy and a subtle hint of tangy. Along with the white sauce dip, the 4pcs were quite fun to eat]
Chicken Cordon Bleu - 4.5⭐️ [They got it just almost perfect. The chicken could have been a tad bit more tender, just a bit. But nonetheless, a definite delight. LOVED the sauce]
Oreo Shake - 2⭐️ [From a standalone perspective, this shake is a good 3.5⭐️ but that's for someone who hasn't had the perfect Oreo shake, which fortunately, I've had just twice in 7 years of my travels all over the country, and my search for one in Kolkata continues]
Bacon Sandwich - 0⭐️ [Probably the first time I'm giving something a 0⭐️. The slices of bread were actually fried! And I mean greasy fried. And the bacon was a DISASTER. Undercooked, almost not-chewable. I had to leave a quarter of the sandwich because of the disgusting taste and the almost impossible to chew bacon. It has ruined my appetite for the entire evening, and personally I believe this item should definitely be taken off the menu]
Now, let's talk about the service:
The staff is smiling and almost friendly, loved that part. But then they did what one shouldn't have...picked up the plates while even there was food on it, and we were eating it. The rush was apparent at the cafe, but this was utterly unacceptable. They did try to compensate with a plate of fries on the house, a really nice gesture, but was a damage of that magnitude in service leaves a mark.
The service disaster and to top it off the sandwich killed any interest I had to rate this place anything above 1⭐️. Definitely not returning to this place. Guess the low price has a...
