Kolkata can now flaunt one more amazing café with the advent of Mavericks! Newly opened at Sarat Bose Road, this spacious 50-60 seater café boasts of a quirky ambience, a pleasant vibe with soothing music and a pretty cool atmosphere with wooden tables! Well, chic won't describe the place enough so, and elegance is not enough when we speak about it. I, along with a set of friends visited this café recently and the experience turned out to be amazing indeed.
Separated into two segments, the café serves amazing Shishas which you can indulge in while watching live matches on the big screen they've! Besides, they have suitable provisions for board games and Playstation which is definitely the attracting factor. As we entered and grabbed a seat, we were served with water by the courteous staff.
As suggested, we went for some of their signature delicacies to fulfill our hunger cravings for the day! We opted for :
• Crispy Chilli Babycorn : Well, this was one hell of an appetizer! The crisp, the texture and the tossed babycorn in schezwan sauce was perfectly on point. It was delicious.
• American Corn Salt and Pepper : Never knew corn would taste so good. The corn was sweet on one hand and flavourful on the other. Loved it.
• Cesar Salad : An healthy option to watch out for from this café! The presentation firstly deserves special mention. Secondly, the Salad was soulful and the ingredients used were fresh as well.
• Bombay Style Sandwich : Probably, one of the best veg sandwiches I've ever had in the City of Joy! Served with French Fries and a dip, it tasted fabulous. The toast and the crisp was perfect. The quantity of mayonnaise was adequate too. Loved it.
• Margharita Pizza : The classy yet subtle Pizza loaded with lots of cheese made us gulp down a slice quickly at first sight. Personally, I felt, the Pizza could've been a bit soft and the crust could've been a bit thin, but then it was decent enough.
• Crazy Italian Pizza : This variant of the Pizza was loaded with vegetables and tasted a bit different from the regular margarita. This also had the right amount of cheese as topping and the crisp was okayish too. But again, the crust could've been a bit thinner.
• Chinese Sizzler : Burnt Garlic Cilantro Rice with Garlic Noodles paired with Vegetable Munchurian served as a perfect main course.
• Veg Pattie Burger : The burger looked beautiful. One bit to it made us feel it's awesome. It was soft and the patty was enriched with spices and thick to the core. The bread was tender to munch on as well.
We ordered for some of their mocktails which turned out be quite soothing and refreshing. We had them with delish. We tried :
• Triple Berry Shake • Virgin Pina Colada • Red Bull Mojito • Chocolate Praline Shake • Virgin Mojito
We tried some of their speciality items as well from various segments from their menu!
• Baked EggPlant Parmesan • Pasta ala Pesto • Classic Belgian Waffle
We were totally full by the time the dessert arrived. We had Sizzling Brownie with Ice-cream.
Coming to the service, the café has good staffs to handle large crowds. The hospitality was great. The food quantity per dish based on the prices they've alloted is worth it. They also serve a huge varieties of flavours of Hokkah at affordable prices. Another perk of this place is the Live Sports Screening feature which will definitely be an added advantage of this place and will keep it ahead in the competition of cafés...
