Mrs. Wilson's Cafe — Restaurant in Kolkata

Mrs Willson's Cafe is a cozy boutique cum café located at jodhpur park, just at a five minute walking distance from South City Mall. The café is small and has AC indoor sitting. With a vibrant ambiance, the cafe is famous for its divine tasting food. With master chefs who prepare the mouth-watering dishes using the purest of ingredients and with ample amounts of love, The opening hours of this cafe is from  11:30 AM to 10:30 PM. This cafe serves a wide range of cuisines ranging from Italian, American, European, Turkish and Hungarian. nibble nook Attached to a Clothing store 'FANETTA' is Mrs Wilson's Cafe, a cute little sip-and-bite zone. The white and maroon walls have doodles on them and bright quilted handmade tablecloth adds colour to the 30-seater cafe. Don't miss the balcony overlooking the street, with trees around... a perfect spot to spend a quiet evening with a cuppa and friends for company. Now moving on to the name of dishes that we had there-

Fizzy Drink:

•Mango Mania- Refreshing and appetizing at the same time.(Highly Recommended)

•Green Apple Soda- Another refreshing and delicious drink.(Highly Recommended)

Fillers:

•Chicken Schnitzel- Served with mayo and a piece of carrot this Chicken Schnitzel have become one of my favorite item from this cafe.(Highly Recommended)

•Fish & Chips- The plate of Fish & Chips was served with delicious mayo, french fries and boiled peas tasted quite nice. The fish was a bit hard.

Main Course:

•Turkish Style Roasted Mutton Platter- This platter consists of Sauted Flavoursome Rice, Boiled Pieces of diced potatoes tossed and coated with cheese and Mutton Curry. The pieces were extremely tender and cooked to the perfection.(Highly Recommended)

•Go Goa Prawn Balchao Platter- This platter consists of Sauted Flavoursome Rice, Boiled Pieces of diced potatoes tossed and coated with cheese and Prawn Curry. The only disappointing thing regarding this particular dish was that the flavour of cinnamon was extremely strong because of which the whole Prawn curry tasted not that good.

•The Amazing Beckty Platter- This platter consists of Sauted Flavoursome Rice, Boiled Pieces of diced potatoes tossed and coated with cheese and Grilled and Sauted Bhetki Fish . This Platter was just amazing. (Highly Recommended)

Dessert:

•Brownie with Ice cream- The Brownie with Ice cream served as a dessert was indeed the best part of the whole meal. The brownie was soft, full of nuts and chocolaty and the ice cream was complementing it in a great way.(Recommended)

So do give this place a quick visit if haven't yet and you'll surely enjoy both of the food and...

Location = Located at the By-lanes of Jodhpur Park, this place is a hidden gem.

Brief Intro = This place has been making its presence felt in Zomato and hence decided to try this place out with some friends. Although the location is tricky but the ambiance and food makes up for it.

Ambiance/Decor = A very homely and quaint place, they have two separate seating areas, specially the Verandah space is my favourite specially being the rainy season.

Service = Quick and prompt service, very helpful, full marks here.

Things Tried = And we were some food hoggers and hence tried out some of their dishes.

♛ Fizzy Drinks to start with and we opted for green apple, kiwi, lichi, orange ones from their menu. They were good but lacked a bit of fizz as per my likings.

♛ Chicken Milanesa : This was just amazing. A thin cut of meat that is breaded and pan-fried, and then served with a dip, and a salad. They have added lots of cheese and makes it wow. Recommended.

♛ Lemon Garlic Roasted Drumsticks : Unlike the usual crisp and fried drumsticks, they have made it differently with some lemon garlic jus that makes it different. This was also a favourite. Do try!

♛ Chicken Steak : Again a different way of presentation, the steak with mushroom sauce had lots of cheese and mushroom, the chicken was grilled to perfection and they serve it with mashed potato and veggies. It was nice.

♛ Chicken Stroganoff : This was the best one from their array, the sour cream mushroom gravy with juicy chicken strips is probably the best in Kolkata. It is lip-smacking and finger licking good. Comes with buttered bread pavs. They can try bread rolls as well, would make a perfect combination.

♛ Mango Delight : A new item launched, it didn't taste that good to me. Had lots of mango and cream, just missed the sweetness of a dessert I presume. Not deducting points for this ofcourse.

Purse Check = Its a nice place which won't burn hole in your pockets, around 700-900/- would be okay for 2.

Overall = Definitely going back for more, to try their main course Italian...

Sorry to rate so bad but I have never seen cafe like this unprofessional serving that too when the price of the items were too high, me being a cat lover and a dog lover didn't feel like the cats were fed quite well even though they looked fat, that can't be upon genetics, when I went I saw very little fish given to them, the cats were feeling very agitated and anxious, now the food if I would like to have butter noodles I would have made it myself charging Rs 320 for that very not acceptable. That too was my friend's bday she was so upset it was ruined and didn't have enough time to go celebrate anywhere else. Now lets acknowledge the payment process, always have paid through Zomato for discount we really went there in a budget but no when we got there they had stopped taking zomato pay said " book a table then only you can pay " have never experienced it ever anywhere, the promotions on Instagram are so misguiding. If you will not accept zomato pay resolve it with ZOMATO not the customer. The customer will always try to get some discounts and when you can see that the bill is paid for through Zomato then accept it cos you already got the money. Though food was not worth paying. I was extremely disappointed and felt bad as I was the one who suggested the cafe to my friends. They didn't blame me but I blamed myself. I don't know if you take care of the cats or not but when you get criticism then learn some lessons out of it, it will improve your business otherwise this isn't the manner of running a business.
