⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Flavor Journey at Noodle & Spice
Sometimes, you visit a restaurant expecting a decent meal, but you end up having an experience you’ll remember for a long time. That’s exactly what happened to me at Noodle & Spice on Janak Road, Kolkata.
It was a cozy afternoon when I stepped in with a friend. The moment we entered, the warm greeting from the staff set the tone. The place felt inviting – not too loud, not too crowded – just the kind of atmosphere where you can enjoy good conversations over great food.
We started our meal with their summer special Mango Shake – no added sugar, no preservatives, and no unnecessary unhealthy additives. Just pure mango goodness, blended perfectly with dry fruits. It was fresh, natural, and the perfect start to our lunch.
Next came the Barbeque Fish – soft, smoky, and bursting with flavor. It was the kind of starter that makes you slow down and savor each bite. Then arrived the Chilli Mustard Bhetki – and wow! Perfectly cooked tender fish, with the mustard adding that beautiful Bengali zing without overpowering the dish. This was hands down the hero of the meal.
To complement it, we ordered the Basil Mixed Fried Rice, which came with an aroma so inviting that we couldn’t wait to dig in. Every spoonful was fragrant and delicious, pairing wonderfully with the seafood. The Pepper Garlic Prawn was another standout – fresh, juicy, and seasoned with just the right hint of garlic spice.
Even the little things, like chilled soft drinks and packaged water, were served promptly and with care.
What stood out most was not just the taste, but the attention to detail – the freshness of the ingredients, the balanced flavors, and the fact that every dish felt made with love. Portions were generous, prices felt fair for the quality, and the overall experience was truly satisfying.
By the time we left, we weren’t just full – we were happy. Noodle & Spice isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a place where food lovers can take a flavorful journey. If you’re in Kolkata and you enjoy seafood, aromatic rice dishes, and friendly service, this is one stop you absolutely shouldn’t miss.

Read moreThe restaurant is a good Chinese restaurant with Indo-Chinese flavours. The decor is great. My girlfriend really loved the vibe. However as for the food, we had a pretty bad experience.
The waiters and waitresses were very polite and greeted us. We ordered CHICKEN MEIFOON (Singapore-style) and TSING HOI CHICKEN (recommended to us by the waiter as we were looking for something spicy, but not Schezwan as we have tried it multiple times).
We had to wait for around 15-20 minutes for the order, which was very much normal and they also gave us a bowl of Kimchi salad as a complimentary item. It was a delight to get such good service. However when the food arrived we were unimpressed. The CHICKEN MEIFOON was not having the "Singapore flavour" which we were looking for. Those who have ate Singapore flavour meifoon will understand this straight away. The flavours were mostly Indian and that too not very good. The quantity was enough for two persons but the taste was not at all good. The TSING HOI CHICKEN was very bland in taste and not at all spicy, it was sweet-ish and tangy-ish. The flavours were not tasty and it was a let down. Ultimately we tried the complimentary kimchi but was even more depressed to find out that the it was stale, not fresh, smelled weird and tasted even bad. I came to the understanding that it was probably made in huge amounts and the kimchi was not selling and spoiling, they decided to give it as complimentary. It was a bad food experience.
Taste rating: CHICKEN MEIFOON (SINGAPORE) - 1/5 TSING HOI CHICKEN - 2/5 KIMCHI - 0/5
However I would like to visit the restaurant again and try their other dishes. It may have just been a bad night or our bad luck.
They have around 5 table seating arrangement in a cozy place. The service was great.

They've recently gained some social media attention, especially on YouTube, which has led to a crowd. Due to the limited seating area, we had to wait a bit to get a table.
The place offers slow music, warm lighting, and tasteful decor — a marvelous job done on the interiors. It really adds to the overall experience.
Basil Fried Rice – ₹280 (4/5) Excellent flavor with just the right balance of spices. However, despite being "mixed," the portion of chicken, pork, and prawns was minimal.
Mixed Pan-Fried Noodles – ₹280 (4/5) Tasted great and full of exotic vegetables, but again, the non-veg ingredients were limited.
Crispy Prawns in Chilli Honey Sauce – ₹410 (2/5) This was a letdown. It was overly sweet, drenched in a sugary sauce with actual sugar crystals ruining the prawn's flavor. Best to avoid this dish.
While a prawn starter at a place like Kafulok in China Town costs ₹1100+ GST for 8 pieces, we had a full three-course meal here for ₹1019 (GST included).
So don’t compare it with Chinese restaurants in China Town. This place is far more affordable while still offering great food, ambiance, and service. Overall, a lovely experience and definitely worth...
