This is the first time we visited this restaurant. Today is Durga Puja ponchomi but still it was not crowded as it opened newly and the location is also hard to find. But that was plus point for us as we got full attention from the staffs and the service was not compromised. We ordered quite some items and below are the reviews: 1) Mochar chop: Freshly fried, hot and tasty. 2) Fish fry: Tasty crunchy bhetki fish fry with fresh fillet. 3) Luchi: Good and tasty. Freshly prepared. 4) Cholar dal: Great taste 5) Vaja mosla alur dom: 4 big sized potatoes. Awesome taste. 6) illish bhapa: Awesome taste. Very well prepared. 7) Mutton kasha: 4 big pieces of mutton. This was also great. 8) Mutton duck bunglow: Okaish taste. But there were 4 large pieces of mutton and an egg. 9) Plain rice: Good quality 10) Basanti pulao: I found the sweetness a little on the higher side. But it was tasty. Although the prices were on the higher side but quality and taste were really good. Worth the price. Definitely a recommend place for good Bengali food. 6)

My wife booked Soul of Bengal - southern avenue to celebrate my birthday. We went there with my mother and in-laws. I seriously do not know where to start because the experience was so amazing and delightful. As soon as I reached this place I was greeted at the gate with a grand welcome. They prepared a thali with flowers, lamp (diya) and welcomed me inside. The table was decorated with flowers and we were served with Aam Pora Sharbet. The taste was amazing. After my mother and my in-laws blessed me and completed all the rituals, food started to flow in. Their Ilish thali and mutton were amazing. Taste of food was out of the world and I loved every bit of it. They even gave us a complimentary dish and gifted us with pens as return gifts. All of them have lovely behaviours but one among them Mr. Jyoti is worth mentioning.

Visited Soul of Bengal, Kolkata recently. The interior looks really good and gives a nice vibe. Staff behaviour is also very polite and welcoming. However, the main concern is the food quality. The Bhetki Mach er Paturi was very dry and the fish did not feel fresh at all. The Chicken Dak Bungalow was overloaded with food colours, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the Fish Fry was quite good and enjoyable. Overall, the restaurant has potential but they really need to improve their food quality and taste to match the beautiful ambiance.

I have no idea who rated this 5 star. I’m almost regular customer to Bengali cuisine restaurant. I usually don’t review but I am utterly disappointed and forced to write this. This is a heavily overpriced place with very bad menu. I mean only dal and one veg in the veg thali. Only two puri and two half piece aloo dum which is not repeatable. What’s repeatable is dal and sukto. Really? For 499 + gst?? I’ve had better meal with repeatable puris, aloo dum, and at least 3 kind of repeatable veggies, welcome drink, GulabJamoon at exactly this same price range and with better service where you don’t have to wait for 1 hour after ordering food and that too with unnecessary loud song which I don’t want to hear. Anyway I tried this restaurant after listening to some reviews, which I suppose are fake and I’m not going to this...
