Read moreWe had made a reservation and rwached 5 minutes before time and were told that it would take 20 minutes. Which was fine honestly but they don't have space to park the car anywhere around or a space for people to wait (ideally with a reservation one shouldnt have to) so we were waiting in our car outside the lane and had even given our number to let us know once the table was free for our group of 7. One of us even checked in in 10 minutes and were told it would takenanother 20 and then when we came in 20 minutes later they said that they'd given our table away so we'd have to wait another 20. It was the moat ridiculous experience, to be honest, and the people bith at the door and inside were not helpful at all. By the end of it, we were starving and ended up sitting at two separate tables in different rooms, which made the experience a lot less pleasant as well. I hope thats something they look into since they are so particular about having people leave the table in 1 hour and 30 minutes. The decor and ambiance, barring the room at the very end, which has a table for eight, was a little odd in terms of decor and felt like a scrapbook (not in a good way). The food, however, did hit the mark on 75 percent of what we ordered. The pesto was fantastic both in the pizza that we ordered (the one with buratta) and even the pasta. It was fresh, singing with flavor and just right. The group had a bunch of coffee beverages and loved those.
I'm not sure if I'll be going back unless I hear they've streamlined their service related issues. There's far better pizza places in the city that have impeccable service, food, and ambiance. This doesn’t match up,...
Read moreWith a 4.7 Zomato rating, I walked into Pico with high hopes. While the coffee blew me away, the food and service left me a bit underwhelmed.
The Orange Coffee Concoction was outstanding-bold, refreshing, and genuinely one of the best coffees I have had in years. Huge credit to the barista!
But the Spinach tomato pizza… not so much. The base was soggy, and I suspect the ceramic plate it was served on contributed to that- it traps steam and what you get is a rather 'just bathed' base. A wooden board or a more pizza-friendly platter could be a simple fix but make a big difference. For now, it was an absolute experience 'dampener'.
Taste-wise, the pizza didn’t hit the spot either. The menu mentioned corn, but I didn’t expect sweetcorn to be one of the main toppings- it threw off the balance and flavor completely, and I am not sure why it was included not clearly specified.
Service was also slower than expected. I had walked in looking forward to ordering more especially after the mind blowing orange coffee concoction, but the pizza experience cut that short for me. I did try the Cranberry cold brew as well- not bad! I also liked how aesthetically they served the two drinks.
Pico has a beautiful vibe and a lot going for it, especially with coffee that memorable. I really hope the food and service evolve to match, because I hope it wants its guests to keep...
