I went to this bar after seeing many review recommendations and believe me it is even better in real life. They have both ac and non AC place. We went to the ac hall and it was the perfect place to leisurely spend your time. There were low lights and light music/tv playing. People quietly enjoying their drinks. It's a huge space and any group size can fit in there comfortably. We went around 3pm and it was nearly empty. The waiters were too friendly and helpful. Polite behaviour with their services was definitely star worthy 😃. Their even refilled our sides for drinks without even saying. The only thing they asked for is a generous tip for their services which I think is legit. Note- being a girl I would recommend you to sit in the ac hall because as evening approaches diff types of people come to non AC compartment and that maybe a bit bothering..overall I felt very safe and secure the whole time. There were no unnecessary interruptions and judgemental looks around me. We ordered - 30ml old monk, smirnoff vodka, officer's choice x2, half chili chicken and full fish finger. Finger finger was absolutely finger licking and chili chicken was more like pan fried but tasty nevertheless. Total price ₹636 +₹60(tip). Highly recommended -fish finger. If you are looking for a affordable bar and restaurant with friends then tripty bar has definitely...

An old staircase cuts you off from the Chowrangi Road and takes you up to this nostalgia-laden, dimly lit pub on the first floor.
It's said legends like Uttam Kumar, Ritwick Ghatak once used to frequently spend their evenings here. It has a tall ceiling with long hanging fans and a few lamps. There is a wall-art with painting of the legends along with iconic Kolkata graphics and excerpts of songs written on it.
The price is very economical, considering the location and heritage. Waiters are courteous but the Food is sub par. It has 2 sections. One AC, other Non AC. A few tables in the AC section can be found hosting families or women, but mostly the crowd is office-returning men. But it felt safe for ladies as well. The waiters are well-mannered.
Regarding food, the pineapple cherry with cheese (INR 170/-) and fish finger (~ INR 200/-) are the best choice of side dishes to order, as per our experience.
For your reference: Blenders Pride costs only 105/- for 30 ml, 200/- for 60 ml.
Point to note. Do not pay tips online along with the bill without asking them. For some reason they don't...
Read moreWent there solo on second day of India-Bangladesh test match to enjoy beer 🍻. It took me some time to find the actual stairs to entrance. Luckily there were helpful shopkeepers to guide me. I ordered chicken pakora with Kingfisher Storm beer. The overall alcohol prices are comparatively cheaper. Also, till now they have provided the best side-items to go along with beer- onions, ada with rock-salt and wet chana- absolutely free of cost! Food: Average, size of pakora could have been bigger. For what it's worth, the fillings were prominent and they were not unnecessarily made bigger by besan or anything. Ambience: Old place, doesn't give very good first impressions for first timers. It's good only if you want to enjoy alcohol with friends or want to feel nostalgia of retro bars in Kolkata. Staff: Courteous and very friendly, made me ease my visit there as a first timer. Make sure you ask them about food quantity, description first. If you have trouble finding entrance, look at my third pic where you will see the collapsible gate next to blue shelf of a street...
