The Terrace has prominent signage in the Leh Market. Its I ❤ Terrace sign is pretty prominent from street-level. It's always nice sitting on an open terrace at Leh, more so it has views, but I was mystified by the Terrace's apparent popularity with foreign tourists. So, on a cloudy afternoon I climbed up a flight of beautiful wooden stairs to an amazingly large space. It's a terrace alright. Its spaciousness isn't evident from street-level. The Terrace has an indoor dining area, perhaps for chilly Ladakhi days, but its clear draw is the large terrace where seating is in two parts - an uncovered terrace which is covered by a cloth awning on especially sunny days, and a pleasant shaded area with a thick coir and cane covering. The ambience is enhanced by music, dance and techno. The Terrace's menu is eclectic, global cuisine plus Indian. Backpackers may find its prices a stretch. Even the humble banana shake is USD 2.5 and the same goes for finger chips. I ordered a butter chicken(half), and tandoori rotis. The food is certainly yumm. The Terrace definitely has a good kitchen. There was nothing by way of accompaniment - not even a humble slice of a cucumber or onion. The Terrace certainly has built up a name despite the pricey menu, coz this is the busiest restaurant in Leh I've ever seen. There was a constant flow of happy diners, and the terrace was more or less at full capacity.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Leh Cafe, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The milk cake they serve is an absolute treat for the taste buds – it's rich, creamy, and simply melts in your mouth. But what truly sets Leh Cafe apart is the warm hospitality you receive. Saira Aunty, the super host, makes you feel like you're visiting a friend's home. Her welcoming smile and genuine care for her customers create an inviting atmosphere that's hard to find elsewhere. It's heartwarming to see the first cafe in Leh embracing its visitors with such warmth. The cafe itself is a great place to relax and soak in the local vibes. Whether you're sipping on a hot cup of chai or indulging in their delectable milk cake, you'll find yourself in a cozy corner of Leh, surrounded by friendly faces and the serenity of the Himalayas. Leh Cafe is not just a place for delicious treats; it's an embodiment of the spirit of Leh – warm, inviting, and unforgettable. :)

Rude Service: A Terrible Experience at this Cafe One of the two guys (the younger one) managing the counter was slightly rude and suggested that I go to another restaurant after I asked about the ingredients of some dishes. It was clear that he was very welcoming and friendly to Western guests, but his attitude towards me was completely different. I wasn't asking about the ingredients without reason; I have dietary restrictions that I need to follow to prevent an infection from worsening. By the way, I'm an Asian foreigner visiting Ladakh, and I look similar to someone from Northeast India. One good thing: The older guy was kind and nice enough to entertain my questions but the younger guy just interrupted our conversation.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at "The Terrace Leh," Thanks to Kamal's Exceptional Service!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at "The Terrace Leh," and I must say, it was an experience like no other! From the moment I stepped foot into the eatery, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, setting the tone for an incredible dining journey.

The ambiance on the terrace was enchanting, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and Leh city. It was the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. As I settled into my seat, Kamal, the remarkable employee, approached with a beaming smile and introduced himself. His genuine enthusiasm and knowledge of the menu immediately put me at ease.

Kamal's recommendations were nothing short of brilliant! He guided me through the diverse array of dishes, ensuring I tried some of the eatery's signature delicacies. The flavors burst in my mouth with each bite, and it was evident that the chef's expertise was matched by Kamal's passion for the food they served.

Throughout the meal, Kamal's attentiveness was exceptional. He effortlessly anticipated my needs, ensuring my glass was never empty and that I had everything I required. His genuine concern for my dining experience was evident, and it elevated the entire meal to a level of personal attention rarely seen in the hospitality industry.

Beyond just serving the meal, Kamal went above and beyond to engage in friendly conversation, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. He shared interesting stories about Leh, its culture, and the restaurant's journey, adding a delightful touch to the overall experience.

I cannot emphasize enough how Kamal's extraordinary service truly made this visit to "The Terrace Leh" a standout event. His dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience deserves recognition, and I wholeheartedly believe that he is instrumental in creating a loyal customer base for the eatery.

It is my sincere hope that "The Terrace Leh" acknowledges Kamal's outstanding contributions by offering him a well-deserved salary raise. Employees like Kamal are a rare find, and investing in their talent will undoubtedly lead to the continued success and growth of the restaurant.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend "The Terrace Leh" to anyone visiting Leh. The combination of delectable food, stunning ambiance, and, most importantly, Kamal's exemplary service makes it an absolute must-visit. Trust me; you won't be...

You are most likely to be served food here only if you are not a guy or not accompanied by one!

We went there as a couple, and were made to wait in an indoor table without even being provided a menu for 15 mins. Upon followup, we were given a table outdoors and again made to wait for 10 mins to just be given the menu.

While we started glancing the menu, a waiter came by to pull back the menu stating you have ordered right so i am taking the menu, because a single girl walked in and menu had to be given to her urgently. Next, we were asked to shift to a diff table, so she could be given that table, and also, her order was being taken even before someone could attend us.

There was another table with 4 guys also struggling with the same issue, of course because they were guys. Also, surprisingly, our dissatisfaction and frustration was not in consideration, because no one from the supervisors was also able to understand what their staff is up to!

Clear disrespect by the staff towards anyone who is a guy or accompanied by a guy.

The ambience and live music was good, but the staff clearly has intentions that are...
