ARCHANA — Restaurant in Madurai

Got into this restaurant to buy a quick take away dinner of parottas as I came out of Madurai Junction West Entrance. This hotel was in vicinity and so I chose this. It was a shock when I saw a rat running inside the restaurant. The person on the counter also saw this, but it seems he is accustomed to it. He calmly said, “nothing sir, it will go away”. The staff were friendly as they made us seated while the take away is prepared. They took some time to pack the dinner, pretending the parottas are freshly prepared. They surprised us more when we found the food was not at all hot and fresh. It was merely packed from the previously prepared and stored in a hotpack vessel. The taste was not at all par with Madurai taste for parottas, even a road side restaurant will make better parottas. Though I paid a premium price for its location, it is a ripoff by exploiting people as I believe they knew well that their customers are just travelers and wouldn’t visit again. Well, I am resident of Madurai and wouldn’t step into this “rat-ridden” restaurant again and will not recommend anyone to go through this experience. Two years back, i went there. Found a large size dragon fly cooked in chicken masala. Yucky. They said one sorry thats it. After two years, visited today. Poor staffs. No proper hospitality. Brought water bottle only after repeatedly asking. And brought foods very lately, as we already finished all other foods. And were waiting so long, at last they brought that archana spl chicken, of no use. Waiter told, boneless pcs will b thr in archana spl chckn. But there were no chckn pcs, only masala was there. Very disappointed with briyani. No salt at all. No taste. In masala omlette, they put tonnes of salt. Total waste of money. If you dont want to waste your money, kindly dont visit archana. Also the lady who clean the table, took the gravy bowl, which we were eating, without asking us. Very bad. Not even worth for...

Not even worth 2 star. The Manager is a lost soul alltogether and due to him the staff is lethargic as well. We ordered food and the miss management was such that the whole experience of eating food in this restaurant was a waste. So the events were like this. We came to this restaurant after we ditched the idea of going to Aharam in madurai. We ordered a good amount of food. My wife ordered a fresh lime soda. To which the manager gave the ingredients and ask her to prepare herself. I was shocked to see such behaviour. The items ordered were noted on piece of paper which was a bill of someone's order. The items were missing as the food arrived on the table. Once we complainted , the manager was behaving as if he was doing us the favour of giving us food there.
