If u r looking for reasonable good vegetarian place in lower Parel then this is one place to consider... This place has sober decor having comfortable seatings.. Seating arrangement are done wisely pertaining to number of people ie for couple or a larger group .. This place is perfectly apt for family n friends group gathering.. There are two private rooms which can accommodate around 15 people n there is minimum commitment of 5000 rs to use it.. Totally Worth, trust me.. Overall decent ambiance.. Menu out here intrigued me... This place does serve multi cuisine food right from Italian to Chinese n Punjabi to Mexican n even some fast food .. I had plenty of items here so penning down in short my food experience I had.. We started with tomato n basil soup n it was very nice.. Had manchow soup which was not that spicy as it should be but was decent.. In starters we had sichuan marbles.. It's a gravy based starters having delectable pieces of veg balls in Chinese gravy n was totally mouthwatering.. We also had cheese nachos which tasted very good but I felt cheese was less in it n also quantity was not that great.. We had mix veg pizza n it was very cheesy having Bell peppers, olives n corn in it n was very good in taste.. We also tried lasagne arrabiata n lasagne in pink sauce... Layers of pasta were marinated well into spicy arrabiata sauce n pink sauce respectively n were baked well.. Though both were good I loved arrabiata one more than pink one.. We also tried chef oriental sizzler n it had rice with Chinese gravy n potato wedges along with raw vegetables in it.. It was good one n Chinese lovers will love it.. Also tried Indian sizzler n it had rice n Indian gravy with Paneer in it along with raw veggies n potato wedges in it .. I found it to be ok .. Quantity of both was good for two n also found veggies in both to be very less in quantity .. Also don't expect smoking hot sizzlers coming on table with smoke n sizzling noise, this one was different .. Also tried triple schezwan rice n this one had bowl of noodles, rice n dry noodles in it n was served along with manchurian gravy which was very tasty.. We ended our meal with naked Nutella waffles n it was OK having two pieces of waffles having pure chocolate on it n peppermint sprinkled on it.. Overall my food experience was decent.. Service was nice, staff were courteous, attentive n were good even in suggesting food to order according to our liking.. Rate wise it not that expensive but not that cheap too but you won't find good reasonable place than this in lower Parel if you looking for dining at some decent place there.. Overall its a vegetarian paradise n one of best places to opt for group meets
My recommendations - Tomato n basil soup, mix veg pizza, sichuan marbles, lasagne arrabiata, chef oriental sizzler
PS- Do reservations for pvt rooms well in advance n also reservations recommended...
Read moreBelstone - Vegetarian restaurant at Raghuvanshi Mills - simple decor ( red and white combination ) serves Indian/Mexican/A bit of Italian and North Indian. Sitting capacity of about 140 plus private sit down for 15 people. It's been a year and a half. Got a chance to visit this place a couple of days back. Menu is vast - catering to the regulars.
Started with :
Fusion Nachos - their signature dish and a hot seller. Fresh homemade nachos topped with bell pepper and jalapeno. The centre has Chinese Manchurian with a bit of gravy. Basically Mexican/Chinese combination. Surprisingly went well. Had a good spice level and punch to the dish. Served with Cheese sauce and salsa. Overall since it's a fusion, one can play with the name - end result was good. No Complaints. Not soggy.
Belstone sandwich - wow (2 days in a row) had to come back for this and will be visiting this place for this sandwich. Nailed it. Bread soft. 3 layers. Mint/coriander chutney was good. Stuffing of tomato/onion/capsicum (usual) now the second layer had Paneer which was marinated in Mayo and spices. This was a killer. Malai Paneer (just like a tikka) but small diced pieces. Balance was good, punch was okay. Topped with cheddar cheese (lovely glaze) end of the day this Belstone special was really special. Must try. Served with Mint chutney and wafers.
Andar Kuch Bahar Kuch - these is again their innovation. Puff fried with different stuffing. A bit of miss as far as the puff is concerned. A bit thick. 4 types of stuffing. 1) Pav Bhaji - that was not bad. Good. 2) noodles/cabbage/carrots (basically the stuffing which one gets in a spring roll) found it too bland. No punch, no taste, miss. Served with their Jain sauce (again a miss) 3) Manchurian stuffing - good, the same which I had with the nachos. 4) Cheese and Capsicum with herbs- stuffing was nice but the outer layer was overpowering. Balance went for a toss. Overall a miss dish according to me.
Tawa Pav Bhili - these guys have a different style of presentation. A small Sigdi with Pav Bhaji/butter/chopped onions. Sigdi does not have coal but the tawa is hot to keep the Bhaji hot. Glaze was good. Initially the first bite I thought it was low on spices but it got the hit required once I mixed it. Nice Bhaji. Was missing the garlic chutney.
Black Dal and Rice - missed the punch of the Dal. Spices flavours and smokiness missing. Added some lemon to get the taste. Goes okay with steamed rice. Texture was good/rich. A bit less on salt as well.
Kulfi malai - very good.
Overall - killer of a dish was the sandwich, followed by nachos and then pav Bhaji. Service was quick. A lot of regulars. 70% dishes are prepared Jain. Prices are not that high. VFM. Try out this place - for me I will be surely going or ordering the Belstone special soon. All the best...
Read moreThe set-up of this place has a purely American vibe. With red and white comfy seats laid out through the place and an interior Indian seating as well, they have infused all the cuisines into one place. Right from Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Indian as well as fusion, they have a huge array of varieties to offer. The place has an extremely inspirational vibe with a very comfortable seating. It forms a perfect set up for a fun filled meal. The first thing that we tried was the Open Cheese Rumali. Crispy, huge and dome shaped upturned roomali roti topped off with minutely chopped pieces of onion and tomatoes with loads of shredded cheese gave an amazing crispy touch to the meal. We also tried their Butter Khichiya. This one was delicious, crunchy as well as just perfectly spicy. The roasting could have been a bit better as it had become too hard. After this, came the Fusion Nachos. This one will definitely put you up for a surprise. This one was a rare fusion of Chinese and Mexican. It might not be the right pick for everyone's taste but it is definitely worth a try. Mexican tortilla chips topped with bell peppers and loaded with cheese sauce surrounding a pool of manchurian gravy. This gravy was loaded with mouth-watering manchurian balls in a thick gravy. Served with fresh salsa, this fusion leaves you with a spicy, sweet as well as sour taste altogether. The next one that we tried was the Macaroni Magic. Cheesy macaroni served amidst a pool of sauce and corn as well as bell peppers tasted both cheesy and delicious. The cheese balls topped atop it were crunchy and had a stringy and a sweet subtle, and cheesy taste to it. They were absolutely delicious. While having these dishes, we also tried their Red Velvet and Kesar Aam. Kesar Aam was fully loaded with kesar and had an extremely crisp ice flakes frothed on the top. The kesar aam had an essence of mango with a heavy taste of kesar. Served in golden glasses, this one was indeed a royal delight. The red velvet had a taste of strawberry as well as butterscotch. The shake was loaded with butterscotch crunchies and the taste of red velvet could have been a bit more. The next dish that we had was on our bucket list for an extremely long time. The Pav Bhaji Fondue. This one had our humble yet delicious and tasteful pav bhaji served as a fondue. Small pieces of French bread served with a bowl of buttery pav bhaji tasted lip-smacking. With adequate spice and masala, it beats a lot of other traditional pav bhajis. Overall, the place is a perfect pick for a meal filled with flavours, be it Indian or any other vegetarian flavours in the world.
