We recently finalized Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for a prayer meet for a relative in Jan 2025, and our experience was extremely smooth thanks to the helpfulness of the team there.
A special mention to Mr. Ajeenkya Sampat, the Administration Manager, who was exceptionally compassionate and supportive. From the very beginning, he offered us water, tea, and sandwiches while we were tired from running around checking other venues. He calmly guided us through all the arrangements, helped us with valet services, provided contacts for singers, arranged a galla for them, and ensured every detail was taken care of. His warmth and patience gave us great comfort during a difficult time.
On the final day too, the staff and ushers were courteous, efficient, and very helpful. The venue itself was perfect for our gathering — neat, clean, well-maintained, comfortable seating, and conveniently located close to the station.
A few important points for anyone planning here:
Air-conditioning is quite cold, so it’s best to keep a shawl or wrap handy.
For fire safety, only electric diyas are permitted (no traditional diyas or agarbatti).
Food is not allowed inside the auditorium, though water can be arranged by the venue on request.
Stage is made available one hour prior to the event and venue needs to be cleared 30-40 mins post event.
As part of event protocol, Gamdevi Police Station and Traffic Police must be informed.
There is only one car parking provided by the venue so the valet needs to be arranged atleast 7-8 to manage the guest cars around the area.
The only flaw is that the distance between the first row and the people seated ahead of the stage is very less so basically the first row they tie the seats so that there is movement for people after the prayer meet to meet the family.
The place is wheel chair accessible.
The total cost for booking the auditorium for the prayer meet was around ₹38,000 for 3 hrs.
Overall, the professionalism, compassion, and efficiency of Mr. Sampat and his team made a tough occasion much easier to manage, and we are deeply grateful for that. Highly recommend for any...
