Known for its Maharashtrian delicacies, Panshikar is a thirty seater where you have to sometimes wait and share tables at peak hours, but the food is totally worth it.
Potato Poha - don't go by the name, it also has onions, topped with grated coconut, coriander and a slice of lemon.
Butter Thalipeeth served with a spoon of delicious white butter is a MUST HAVE! Fried to perfection and so crisp and balanced use of onions and spices, I couldn't help ordering another plate! To hell with all the calories!
Farali Pattice - Fried outer covering of potatoes stuffed inside with grated coconut, crushed peanuts and rock salt.
Kothmir Wadi - Four triangular pieces that are fried till brown. MUST HAVE!
Sabudana Wada - Crisp, not at all chewy, you can relish these by themselves or with the coconut chutney they serve along with almost every dish.
Farali Potato Toast - another simple yet amazing dish. I love potatoes and anything made with them. This was purely made of mashed potatoes stuffed with mint-coriander chutney and deep fried! MUST HAVE!
Veg Kurma Puri is a mini meal where the kurma is a mildly spiced gravy with mixed veggies. However I found it a little watery so you can skip this one.
Rajgira Puri Bhaji is a fasting mini meal with small crisp puris made of rajgira and white potato bhaji.
Masala Milk is a hot beverage - basically turmeric milk with almonds and pistachios served in a small tea cup.

One of their standout dishes is the Kharvas, made with pure colostrum milk, just like it is prepared in traditional Marathi households. The Shrikhand and Basundi are another highlight—rich, creamy, and infused with the right amount of sweetness.
The ambiance is simple yet inviting, and the service is warm and efficient. Despite its popularity, the staff ensures quick service without compromising on quality. The prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for both regular meals and special occasions.

Read moreFood is okay. I was visiting for the 1st time. It’s a small place and there no attempt made by the owner or the staff to retain customers who are waiting for seating. In a 3 seat bench a couple occupied opposite sides thus preventing 4 others from getting a seat and were sipping tea and chatting and the owner or staff didn’t even bother to ask them to move to a smaller seat. I managed to get a seat after 10 minutes. But my order if simple poori Bhaji was delayed by another 15 minutes while others got served. No idea why!! When contacted the server just waved his hand and kept moving away. Service attitude needs to be addressed. I went here and persisted only because my friend at Mumbai recommended it as I expressed desire to gave Maharashtrian food. I may not visit this place in...
