Cafe Trofima, Shivaji Park, Dadar, Mumbai
Cafe Trofima, located near the bustling Shivaji Park in Dadar, has garnered attention as a popular hangout spot, but it falls short of the hype for several reasons.
Food
The menu boasts a variety of food options, including breakfast platters, which might initially seem impressive. However, the taste of the food is compromised and does not justify the high prices. For a cafe that markets itself as a premium experience, the quality of the dishes leaves much to be desired.
Ambience and Seating
The sitting space is one of the better aspects of Cafe Trofima. Considering it is a cafe, the seating is comfortable and suitable for casual conversations or work. However, the overall ambience is just average, with no music to elevate the vibe. It lacks the warmth or charm that many would expect from a cafe in this area.
Service
The service is satisfactory but nothing extraordinary. While the staff is polite and attends to customers in a timely manner, the overall experience doesn’t stand out as memorable.
Location and Accessibility
A significant downside is the lack of parking space, which can be a hassle, especially given the busy location of Shivaji Park. Visitors arriving in their own vehicles may find it inconvenient.
Pricing
The prices are on the higher side, making it hard to justify for the quality of food and overall experience provided. While there are plenty of food options to choose from, the value for money is not reflected in the offerings.
Verdict
Cafe Trofima is overrated and doesn’t quite live up to its reputation. While it has some redeeming qualities like decent seating and satisfactory service, the compromised food taste, lack of parking, and high prices make it hard to recommend wholeheartedly. It could work as a one-time visit for those curious about its breakfast platters, but better options are available in and around the area for a more satisfying...
Read moreImpromptu weekend lunch & since this was in proximity & an all day open dining we chose #Trofima. Even at 3.45PM, it was bustling :)! A quick scan through the menu & we decided to have the Mediterranean chicken bao's and the spicy chicken tikka pizza. The entire set up is cozy. Trofima is on the corner of the main road with glass windows, so if you choose the seating beside the window, you can enjoy the traffic of LJ road & city light market. This place is well lit up & chic interiors. The servers are courteous & are aware of what is served with the details. Their suggestions are also good. Service was good. Food was at the table & it appeared to be delectable. 3 huge baos filled with a slightly sweetish & lil spicy boneless chicken chunks, some slices of veggies & chilly mayo. This was then topped with shredded exotic cabbage, the green cabbage, carrots & beetroot. The combo was lovely & a morsel of all together was a good myriad of flavours. Next came in the pizza. Oh the sight of it made us more hungry. It was a 9" Pizza, thin crust but yet crispy & not the chewy typically thin flat base. Despite being thin crust, it had a nice crispness n crunch to it. Loaded with roasted flavourful chicken tikka. In addition the red peppers with onions & green bell peppers enhanced the flavours. The cheese topping was just perfect giving it a good cheesy taste. Even the mint mayo gave a nice flavour. The wood fire pizzas always taste awesome. Pizzas are a must try of Trofima. Ended our meal with a lovely #BlueBerryCheese cake was was smooth, creamy, apt sweet, right flavour of Blueberry & the super amazing spiked mocha. Pls do not miss the spiked Mocha. Its a bliss to sip on it on a rainy afternoon. The rates are decent for the great quality food served. The total for two ppl with taxes was approx 1280/-, which according to me is a decent amount considering the quality & the quantity served. Will visit soon to try the other delicacies....
Read moreAn establishment that is close to Shivaji Park, this cafe is spacious and has natural light entering the premises via the window glass walls. Customers are welcomed by small plants surrounding the restaurant and the interiors is decorated by modern elements that liven the place up. Ambience and food is suited for youngsters looking to relax and have a great time. Staff was extremely polite and knowledgeable and the food arrived on our table in a reasonable amount of time. Service in general was top notch and we had no complaints. Their food menu comprises mainly of Italian, Asian and Continental cuisines. Their breakfast menu also seems interesting and has loads of options. One will surely find something great to enjoy based on their liking. We had the following from here : BBQ Chicken Burger - One of the best burgers that we have ever tried for sure. Shredded chicken in BBQ sauce with Jalapenos was a treat in terms of flavour. Fried egg and the crunchy veggies gave it that difference in texture. The bun was toasted well and completed this perfect burger. The side of fries were perfectly golden and crispy. Coleslaw was yummy as well. You can't ask for anything more from a burger dish..😋 Chicken Burmese Khow Suey with Noodles - There are certain plates of food that simply touch your soul and leave an everlasting impression..😌 The thick and meaty Coconut Milk and Yellow Chilli tempered broth Chicken was full of flavour and absolutely mouthwatering. Served along with noodles, their combination was too good. On top of that add the peanuts, scallion and burnt garlic to give that extra texture and different flavours, it was nothing short of a party inside our mouths..😋 Virgin Mojito - A refreshing and vibrant drink that was perfectly balanced in terms of flavour by lime, mint and sugar. We loved it and went really well with the amazing food being...
