EPL: Eat Pray Luv is a relatively new all vegetarian restaurant opened in Opera House / Charni Road area. You can locate this place next to Shiv Krishna Hotel. The place opened in January of this year. The management and ownership of both these restaurant belongs to the same group, which means a lot of credibility and experience on board already. EPL Ristorante is a small but cute restaurant serving Italian & Mexican cuisine. The restaurant has worked hard on the ambiance, right from the interiors, to its music to its menu to its cutlery! You get a good vibe on entering the restaurant. They have also worked really hard on the food and its presentation. A special mention for the staff - Mr. Nirmal Gomez (the restaurant manager) was with us through our meal and was extremely courteous and helpful in suggesting what we must try! Coming straight to what we ordered at EPL: Most of things that we tried here were Must haves, so you will find a lot of this written in my review! We started our meal with the chef's special and recommended dish - The Three Cheese Garlic Bread with Jalapeno. You will not find Jalapenos on top of the garlic bread which would be the usual case, but it is served on the side. It will give you a feel of a Murabba as it is sweet. Must try! Next we tried the Jalapeno and Cheese Fritters - again beautifully presented! Difficult to go wrong with something which is fried, but you still need to get it right! A perfect snack or appetizer that you should try at EPL! Must try! I must say, EPL has limited options in terms of drinks, they offer basic drinks since they don't serve mocktails as well. They have a variety of teas and coffees that you can also try. You can go for the Fresh Lime or ask for Mint base drink. Both are nice and refreshing, especially in this heat! Next we tried the Totes. They offer Totes in Mushroom as well as Spinach and Corn.  I being a Mushroom lover, preference and recommendation would be to have the Mushroom Totes, but incase you don't eat mushrooms, the spinach and corn one is a very good substitute. Being an Italian restaurant, they serve pizzas and pastas as well. I wasn't in the mood to have either, but have heard a lot about their Pasta specially. Their Arabiattas and their Agliolio pasta in mushroom sauce is something that I have heard about. So you can definitely try these as well. Post the Totes, we tried the Tacos. At EPL, you will get Open tacos, and not in the regular U shaped tortilla chips. You get options for the filling within. We tried the retired black beans option. Yum and something that you should try. We finally moved to the mains and ordered couple of them - Cannelloni of Roasted Vegetables, Goat Cheese and Spicy Tomato Sauce and the Mushroom Quesadillas with Cilantro Rice. I loved both of these dishes, good portions and quite filling. First one - baked dish with cylindrical pasta, veggies and spicy sauce! Awesome combination. A special mention to the Mushroom Quesadillas presented beautifully and the mushroom filling was too good! Mushroom Lovers, cant miss out on this dish. Finally for dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Fondant. Choco Lava Cake is served with Vanilla ice-cream.  Drool-worthy, something that cant be missed again! Must try! Overall, a great experience. As mentioned earlier, good vibes as soon as you enter and the experience is enhanced with good food and good service. Do visit this place, especially the vegetarians, highly recommended!

How many times has it occurred that you pass by a particular place everyday and eye upon a new restaurant or cafe there and you're too excited to try it but just don't get the time! I bet quite a few times! I experienced the same since the last six months whenever I'd see EPL on my way to work. An all veg Italian and Mexican serving restro, it's owned by the same person as the adjoining Shiv Krishna. Eat Pray Luv has made good use of the small space with an approximate capacity of forty people at a time. The wooden tables, chairs and brown sofas in the upper section along with shades of cream and pink on the walls adorned with the big flamingo in the lower section, resonate warmth and joy! I love the way their logo is made - it depicts the name so well and they have elaborated about the same on the first page of the menu. We were invited for a review and thus called for miniscule portions of everything we sampled. Mind you, their actual offerings are more than sufficient! The meal kickstarted with the Tomato Basil Soup that had a nice consistency - neither too thick nor too runny. It had the tangy flavours from the tomatoes blend well with the basil and a little sweetness from the fresh cream that was well balanced in its use. Perfect during the monsoon! From the appetizers we tried the Three Cheese Garlic Bread served with sweet jalapeno compote (Yes it's sweet and not really the jalapenos on the bread as one may assume) Their bread is outsourced, I wish they could bake it in house. Loaded with mozzarella, feta and cheddar cheese in tandem with chilli flakes and hints of coriander, the actual dish has four of these huge slices of goodness. Recommended! The health conscious part of me craved for some greens and thus came the Grilled Broccoli tossed in hot arabiatta sauce. The dish looks beautiful with its contrast of the green florets and deep red sauce. The broccoli is very lightly grilled and goes well with the mildly spicy yet tangy arabiatta sauce that had some parmesan shavings scattered in to enhance the taste of this marvel. Next up was the most looked-forward-to dish and that's my favourite - pizza! The Mediterranean Pizza that is usually 10 inch long (ours was a smaller yet filling one!) came straight out of the woodfired oven loaded with green and black olives, all types of bell peppers, sundried tomatoes, onions and cottage cheese garnished with chopped basil leaves on a wafer thin crust that is not so cheesy and just melts your heart. Highly recommended! Amongst the many Main course options, we chose to try the Baked Avocado and Black Beans Tacos. Both the tacos were soft shelled and topped with tomato salsa, sour cream and pesto. Personally I liked the avocado one more as the nutritious fruit was coated like a Cutlet and tasted awesome! We ended with the Chocolate fondant. Gooey molten lava oozes out as soon as you pierce into this lip smacking dessert. Drizzled with chocolate sauce and complemented by a vanilla ice cream on the side, this one is a Must Have! Their menu has a lot to offer and I'm definitely going back for more.

I was invited by the restaurant to try out some of the dishes from their menu. So I went with a friend on a Sunday afternoon, well, almost evening. It was almost 3pm by the time we reached there. Since the top floor was too crowded, we decided to take one of the two tables on the lower floor. Let's start with the food. So we started out with three cheese garlic bread with jalepenos and Jalapeno and cheese fritters. I must say, the portion sizes turned out to be unexpectedly large, especially, given the price point. The three cheese garlic bread with jalapeno was served with a spicy-sweet dipping sauce which was delicious; even the bread was quite delicious in itself. The jalapeno and cheese fritters were also great - loved the fact that we could do the cheese pull on each and every fritter, even after they sat on the table for a while. Then we ordered the Watermelon and feta cheese salad - although I've never been a fan of this particular combination - turns out, I'd never had the real deal - I loved it here. The sweet-sour-creamy feta cheese greatly complemented the water-crunchy texture of the watermelon. I even liked the presentation the watermelon and feta cheese salad. For main course, the maitre'd suggested that we try the fiamma pizza - which just had onions as the toppings. It was a thin crust pizza which was baker very well - even their signature pizza sauce was great. The best part was that the cheese was perfectly balanced and complemented the taste of the pizza rather than overpowering the entire taste of the pizza. The pizza tasted even more delicious with the chilli oil that was already at the table. We also ordered a lemon soda and a red velvet shake and honestly, the shake could have been better, it felt quite watered down. For desserts, we ordered avocado ice cream and chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. The avocado ice cream was delicious although the chocolate lava cake could have been a little better - but then again, since it was way over their normal service time - I can't blame them either. The decor and the ambiance is great - I definitely loved the vibe and feel of the place - it's warm, welcoming vibe. Although the height of the upper floor is a little short for me, I had to carefully dodge the cross beams. Although the tables and chairs are quite comfortable, plush, and quite ergonomic. Another aspect that I loved about this place is the service - the attendant was very careful about whatever we asked, and made sure that we were comfortable, and had everything we needed. He knew his way around the menu quite well, and was able to suggest dishes keeping in mind our preferences. Another great aspect was the time it took to prepare the dish that we ordered - the service was quite prompt. Moreover, after every dish, the busser came around and asked to change the plates and the tableware without having been summoned - which is quite rare even for the most lavish of the restaurants.

Owned by and located next to Shree Krishna; at Ranchod Bhuvan on JSS Road at Opera House Charni Road; EPL: Eat Prey Love is a pure VEGETARIAN Italian and Mexican restaurant which has opened recently i.e. on 27th January 2018. They have converted the cute little place into a nice restaurant with major seating available upstairs and room for some seating downstairs too. Seating is comfortable too. They have put up nice yellow bulbs and decorative frames which added to the elegant modern ambience with vibrant colours.

We visited this place on a Friday late night for dinner and were given warm welcome by Mr. Gomes who was in charge of the restaurant. They have a wide menu with many options available. Below is our food experience:

APPETIZERS Bruschetta – Starting our meal with one of the best bruschettas which we had. This one were super tasty and delicious.

Three Cheese Garlic Bread with Jalapeno – The portion size turned out to be unexpectedly large and we were wowed by it. They served us large pieces of soft and fluffy garlic breads topped with three different cheese, oreganos and chilli flakes along with a side portion of Jalapeno Jam which was made in house and its taste was a combination of spicy and sweet. It was unique and outstanding.

WOOD FIRED PIZZA Mediterranean pizza – A personal suggestion from their team and also their in-house speciality; this one was a super deal for us. They make the pizza in wood-fired oven and this was had toppings like feta goat cheese, red and yellow bell peppers, olives on a 10inch thin crust crispy pizza base. We liked it. Pizza tasted more delicious with some addition of Tabasco and Chilli Oil to it which were on the table.

PASTA Alfredo White Sauce Pasta – Penne pasta with Alfredo white sauce topped with chopped black olives and basil leaf. It was a perfect dish with great taste. PS: you can customize your pasta according to your needs with addition or deletion of the toppings also.

MAINS Chimichangas served with spicy Mexican Rice – A nicely presented dish. Chimichangas are popular Tex-Mex American cuisine where the rectangular tortilla is filled with vegetables and deep fried. Here they had given nicely stuffed chimichangas with crunchy vegetables inside it along with a rounded serving of Mexican spicy bean rice which was cooked perfectly.

DESSERTS Chocolate Fondant with Vanilla Ice Cream – One of the best way to end the meal is on a sweet note and this one surely did the work. Chocolate brownie filled with gooey chocolate and served with ice cream on the side topped with chocolate sauce. Soft and gooey, it just melts in your mouth like a choco lava cake.

Blueberry Cheesecake – Another dessert which we tried and were truly speechless was this one. Couldn’t believe that it can be so good. Take a bite and you can get all the three taste of the blue berry cheese cake from the blueberry taste to the cheese cake to the crust in your mouth. A well made dessert in my opinion.

DRINKS Mint Mojito – This can never go wrong and it was a refreshing drink.

Oreo Shake – A thick shake for all the Oreo lovers out there. It was nice with crushed Oreo in it.

Overall, it’s a nice place with simple yet elegant décor and warm vibes. I totally loved the service as well as the detailed info of each dish which we were given by Mr. Gomes - a special thanks to him. Service was spot on with attentive staff who took care to cater to our needs and made sure that we were comfortable. Another thing is that this place is pocket friendly and the quantity served is good too. We definitely recommend this place.

Do visit this place, especially the vegetarians, highly...

Eat Pray and Love are basic day to day things in our life and i totally loved the fact that they thought of such a good connecting name. Something interesting and something that will get people to them. Not only does the place give good vibes but the food as well is something to go for. This restaurant serves Italian and Mexican food and is pure vegetarian. They are also a Zomato Gold Partnered restaurant with 1+1 food offers.

I would love to mention Mr. Gomes who happened to be a perfect host that evening. He gave us excellent suggestions inspite of being really busy as the place was packed. His service was impeccable. He was friendly and courteous.

As we entered the Huge gate we were amazed to see a very large golden Flamingo which happened to be a very interesting piece of art. They had two tables down as well as the kitchen, and about 7-8 table on their mezzanine floor. Pastel coloured walls totally won my heart with bright yellow lighting. The ambience was definitely the kind to have a perfect evening.

Off The Menu :

Beverages :

Red Velvet Shake

Totally loved the flavour. Just wish it was a little thicker though. But the taste was really good as Red Velvet always is.

Blueberry Shake

I happened to like the Blueberry Shake more. It was a little more thicker which a strong blueberry flavour.

Starters :

Jalepeno and Cheese Fritters

Totally fell in love these starters. Cheesy all the way. Eight Pieces were presented very well on a platter. It went so so well with ketchup. Loved how crisp it was on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside.

Nachos with Black Olives and Beans

This happened to be a very large plate of cheesy nachos. Totally loved all the toppings on it. The nacho chips were good, topped with mexican beans, cheese sauce, Mexican Salsa sauce and black olives. This happened to be never ending. A good option if your meeting friends over a conversation. This is a starter that will last long.

Pizza :

Mediterranean Wood Fired Pizza 10”

I happen to be a fan of the pizzas here. Mr Gomes suggested the Mediterranean Pizza and this is the best dish i had here. Truly delicious and a must try. The base was thin and crispy as well as soft which made it a really good combination. The size being 10 inch was more than enough for 2 people. This is one thing that has to be ordered at EPL. A very good experience.

Mains :

Chimichangas served with Spicy Mexican Rice :

This was something totally different. The presentation itself was outstanding. It came in a large wooden box kind plate which had a black stone fitted in it. This plate happened to be really big along with the black stone. Placed on the stone were two Chimichangas which are kind of deep fried burritos filled with veggies. Beside these chimichangas was a bowl of Spicy Mexican Rice which really went well with it. It was perfect spicy and delicious.

Desserts :

Gooey Chocolate Molten Cake with Ice-cream :

A must have dessert if you visit EPL. The gooey chocolate molten cake was literally oozing out chocolate as soon as i put a spoon in it. Hot gooey chocolate cake and the amazing vanilla ice-cream to go with it made a splendid combination. A total must have !

Overall i had a wonderful evening and it was completely worth it. From the ambience, food, service and presentation it was all perfect !
