HOD - The house that surely needs some attention.
Heading towards this place might be tricky for the people who aren’t aware about the location, but google maps will do the needful well enough.
They’re location is more of an industrial one. You might see some restaurant around this area you’ve even heard of but amids all the hustle, I guess HOD is pretty much making its name too.
A sweet ambience, a welcoming staff and for an area with so much competition, the food shall surely bring joy while you dine in. Also they are opening a bar shorty after they get their license in place, but for the time being you can relish their mocktails and their recipes the chefs have in store for you.
The order in this House -
Orders -
Virgin Caprioska- came in more like the mojito concoction. Served well sweet and limey with slushed ice.
Panner Satay - 3 skewers. Had the BBQ and smokey effect. Subtle on the marinations with the tender Panner.
Crispy Veg - Also came with some babycorn/broccoli/capsicum. Deep fried with the spicy batter. felt it was too oily. So didn’t go down well with me.
Italian Baby Potatoes - loved their cheesy marination on the Potatoes. Quite unusual. Topped with some herbs and served.
Tandoori Mushroom and Panner Pizza - one world for this dish - WOW! It wasn’t crowded like the usual pizza dishes. Served in 8 slices (I guess). Fresh on all ingredients inside. Too good!
Peri Peri Cottage Cheese Sizzlers - Served with a portion of brown rice, assorted vegetables tossed in black sauce. Some fries on the side to munch on and a lovely spicy gravy given separately that can be put on top of the entire affair.
Malai Kofta Curry - this dish was made from the chefs heart. Excellent work done on the gravy being creamy. Very soft on the koftas. Can be relished well with the nans/kulchas/butter rotis.
Caramel Custard - sweet kind of pudding. Jelly type of a texture. Kind of a nice affair.
Crem Brûlée - was more of a creamy kind of a dish. Chef ignited fire to the top to caramelise the entire experience. So once you dig in, it’s hard on the top but creamy and soft as you eat it. Surely recommend.
Overall I feel this place is perhaps hidden and a little neglected because of the area or the insane competition around. It’s only when you step into this place you’d know what the experience had to hold for you. And believe me it’s even very pocket...
Read moreThe place has spread good variety of choices in their menu. The 99 menu that runs from 4pm to 7pm is limited but interesting. Would definitely be trying that in our next visit. This time we visited the place for lunch and tried almost all the cuisines they served. What we had: -Paneer Satey: paneer skewers with bbq sauce. The paneer was soft and fresh. The sauce went well, overall a good dish. -Italian baby potatoes: baby potatoes tossed in Italian herbed cheese sauce. We loved this one and highly recommend it! -Crispy schezwan veggies: Good old crispy well. Stay to the point. -Tandoori Mushroom and paneer pizza: we generally don’t like paneer on pizza but this one was good. The overall flavouring went amazing. -Peri peri cottage cheese Sizzler: the taste, quantity, flavour all were to the point. -For main course we opted for malai kofta with assorted bread. What we liked was the gravy wasn’t too sweet. Mild flavours and perfect texture. The kofta were brilliant. -Desserts consisted of Caramel custard & Crem Brulee. Both were quite similar to each other. However we preferred the crem brûlée because of the crisp sugar layer at the top. The meal was accompanied by mocktails like virgin Pinacolada and hod special. Hod special was guava based while Pinacolada was the normal one. Both were refreshing and went superbly with the meals. Overall, a good dining experience, not heavy on the pockets.
Will I visit again: Yes Do I...
Read moreThis place is at a walking distance from Ram Mandir station. Besides HOD, there are various other restaurants nearby like daftaar and the bombay canteen making this place a prime location.
I was here for dinner with my friends yesterday. The ambiance is quite classic with comfy seating for all the tables.
We were hosted by Rajiv who seemed to be a nice guy and helped us throughout with good suggestion.
Lemon Mojito- Being a mojito lover, I try mojitos at every other place I go. This one was very refreshing and more sour, just how I like it. It had just right amount of ice in it. Loved it overall.
Drums Of Heaven- These were chicken drumsticks nicely filled with spices. They came in good quantity and were a bit on the spicier side. Also the chicken tasted very tender and fresh. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Prawns Salt & Pepper- These were large sized tiger prawns. They were very fresh and tasted heavenly. Must try.
In mains we decided to have Indian so we ordered for murgh rarma witn butter naan.
Murgh Rarna har good quantity of chicken in it. The gravy was scrumptious with just perfect amount of spiciness. It went very well with butter naans.
Coming to everyone's favourite part of the meal, desserts.
As per Mr.Rajiv's recommandation we decided to go with cream brulee
It was an upgraded version of caramel custard. They burn the upper layer with a burner serve after it's hard. It tastes lovely with...
