I have a liking for Malwani food due to its unique & peculiar flavours, & especially due to taste of coconut which is generally very prominent in Malwani recipes.
Ordered Mutton Fry & Suko Kolambi from Hotel Malwan Katta. My experience with their food is narrated below :-
Mutton Fry : Don't get carried away by the name of the dish. The preparation is very different from what it sounds. It was a thick gravy which was oily. Immensely flavourful though. The taste of coconut in the gravy was evident. Mutton was tender, however, the mutton pieces used could have been better. The dish was delicious.
Suki Kolambi : "Kolambi" means Prawns. This dish too was prepared in a thick gravy. It was spicy & very oily. Prawns used were of small size. Flavour of coconut was indeed evident. The dish was average in taste.
Overall, the food was nice & flavourful. Would love to try it again.

Read moreGood food. I have recently converted to a vegetarian and had ordered veg this place is good for children and fish but overall as per my past fish and chicken experience, knowledge/ experience of properly cooked food, it's aroma and those typical malvani masala fragrance make it loud and clear how good food is. Looking at fish and brought water in my mouth felt like reverting back to non-vegetarian 😂. Being myself Konkani aplya pattaya chi chav ahe rao te kutle lele garam masala 😋 ani khobrya cha vatanat murleli ti macchi ani chicken and strong taste 🤤. Regarding my veg order it was also good baas aur kya hi bolu I know public vegitarian ko kaisi gali bakte hai 😂 thankyou for reading. Service is slow so better plan fatafat about your next order so you don't have to wait. ₹₹₹
