Silk Road Coffee Company Experience Center — Restaurant in Mumbai

Had a really DISAPPOINTING experience at this place. I visited with my husband and when we went there while placing the order, they didn't have so many basic things on the menu. Their OTG was out of service apparently and hence couldn't make garlic bread and basic stuff but only whatever bread was ready we could order from, then we asked for chicken sausages they said that was also out of stock and only pork and bacon was available, I mean SERIOUSLY WHAT. Anyhow, we placed an order for eggs florintine and mushroom spinach toast and a Vietnamese cold coffee. We placed the order at 10:19 and waited for quite some time. When we lost our patience at 10:45, we finally asked one of the staff guy who was serving for our order, he said two mins he would check after like almost half an hour. Then at 10:55 he got our coffee and then at 11 the mushroom toast. So my husband has mushroom allergy but he was quite hungry so ate the toast from the sides as that order came at 11 the first of what we ordered. Then at 11:15 an hour later comes the eggs we ordered, nothing great and with no salt. Then I went to the counter to ask for salt pepper she just pointed out. Zero service and taste not worth the value. Pls keep more staff of they can't handle the crowd. When we also asked for recommendations, the female at the counter recommended the most expensive item, I guess if we ordered that we would have to wait till sunset. I mean how much time does it take to make eggs and hashbrown ok I understand the mushroom toast. Even the coffee half an hour like seriously, was just cold coffee. Other places in versova are much more busier and crowded but have 1000 times better service and food. Overall, horrible service, 4/10 taste, and ultimately unnecessarily overpriced. I visited this café this evening and finally managed to locate it on my second attempt. Unfortunately, during my previous visit last week, I had to leave without finding it.

The moment I stepped in, I loved the positive and soothing vibe of the place—it’s a cosy spot to unwind. However, the overall experience didn’t quite match my expectations.

Pricing was a big letdown. I paid ₹750 for two glasses (approximately 200-250 ml each) of Midnight Lemonade Iced Tea, which felt overpriced. It gave the impression that the owner is more focused on short-term profits rather than creating value for customers.

I was also looking forward to a hot, handcrafted coffee, but the staff only suggested machine-made cappuccinos and frappés. It was only after placing my order that I noticed a "Hand Pour" section on the menu, which was exactly what I wanted. When I asked the staff about it, they casually mentioned that they could serve dark coffee with milk separately. This was quite disappointing—I would have ordered it if they had guided me properly.

Service-wise, there’s room for improvement. Even our table wasn’t cleared when we arrived, and we had to request it twice before it was taken care of. The staff seemed undertrained, and a little more attention to detail would have made a big difference.

What added to the disappointment was that the proprietor, Mr Suri, was present but showed no interest in engaging with customers or gathering feedback. Instead, he went straight to his cabin, missing a great opportunity to connect with guests and improve their experience.

The café’s Instagram marketing made it look promising, but the experience didn’t quite live up to it. A little more attentiveness, fair pricing, and customer-focused service could truly help this place reach...

We often give reviews only when something disappoints but its important to mention when the place goes above & beyond expectations.

First off. I absolutely love the coffee beans from Silk Road. Especially Naturals. So this time I'd ordered 3 packets of coffee beans from Silk Road and the delivery got delayed. I ended up speaking to Parth who was incredibly kind & rectified the situation. I got the delivery the same day.

We love a strong brew but Koppathur Estate beans despite being a light roast really hit the spot. Honey was a bit mellow but Adventure blend was surprisingly rich considering I'm not a big fan of blends.

Now, imagine my surprise when I get delivered another bag of coffee 3 days later. Spoke to Parth who said there was an error and while I was happy to return the package, he asked me to keep it saying "We want to ensure you never go to any other place else."

Well Parth, its worked coz not only does Silk Road procure great coffee for addicts like us also your service & kindness has ensured a long lasting customer.

For those ones, including me, who wont get so lucky the second time around, do try their coffee. You wouldn't be disappointed and the fact that the cafe is stunning on its own helps.As for me. I'm just happy I get to enjoy my varied brews for a little while longer.
