Pop Tate's R Mall Mulund — Restaurant in Mumbai

Visited Mulund outlet on 26th May for IPL Final. Horrible experience regarding 2 topics.

Would like to highlight the behaviour of following staff - Vinayak, Swamini & Virender.

Firstly, we ordered chicken Afrikano, which we had a few bites of and noticed the chicken isn't fresh and very chewy. We had eaten upto 30% of the dish as we ignored the first few bites but noticed the stale chicken was consistent. Reported this to the staff, spoke with Vinayak who apparently is the manager but his behaviour is definitely unprofessional. Instead of doing something about the dish, he suggested we don't order chicken dishes if that's the case. Is this how a manager of such a reputed restaurant chain should respond? We asked either for a replacement with fresh ingredients or a different dish from the menu. He was saying nothing can be done or order veg, he even offered a complimentary pastry but we didn't want anything for free hence rejected. We wanted to eat chicken as we pleased and it wasn't his decision to tell us what to order. Later he changed the order to something in veg, paneer and mushroom which we didn't even have because of the incident ahead.

Secondly, Poptates clock works few minutes ahead of our clocks as I saw it was 7:23 in my watch and phone both but Swamini told Virender that "1 Minute bacha hai happy hour ka" while pointing on his phone. upon hearing this, I quickly ordered total 4 500ml beers A MINUTE BEFORE the happy hours ended. The order was taken by Virender. I explained him 1+1 me 4 chahiye he nodded and went to get the order. Got us 2 beers at first. As we were watching the IPL Final, we asked them if we could shift to a different table closer to the screen. SWAMINI told us "ha change karke dunga lekin bill pehle pay karna padega ye table ka kyuki happy hour ka order hai" (please remember this line) And the table we were offered was just besides ours hence not much different so we thought let it be, let's just sit where we are. After finishing 1 beer, we asked for our next 2 ones which I already ordered via Virender. He said "aur koi order nahi hai" and told us happy hours me place nahi kiya, khatam hogaya tha. But we recalled that Swamini had already told him 1 minute bacha hai. Swamini started declining everything and rudely told us to speak to the manager and walked off, when in the first place I was talking to Virender and didn't even ask for Swaminis presence 😂 Virender said happy hours khatam ho Gaya tha, then why didn't he inform that to us ? HE EVEN ACCEPTED HIS MISTAKE. but swamini and Vinayak didn't.

Then Vinayak came, and showed us cctv that we came at the table around 7:26 , but we recall we came few mins earlier than that, entry can be found in their register too. Vinayak said "order punch hi nahi hua tha happy hours me" then why did Swamini point to the phone and said "1 minute bacha hai Happy hour me" and later why did he tell us "table shift karenge lekin pay Karo pehle because table ka happy hour me order hai" In the final bill, they didn't charge us for the food but we had to pay for the beer each even after we placed in happy hour. But the bill was still higher than what it would've been with happy hour. If we were aware that it has ended , we would order something different from the 2+1 menu. This isn't about the few hundreds we spent extra, if it was we would've accepted Vinayaks offer for the free pastry. This is about the trick pulled by Swamini and Vinayak. I don't blame Virender as he admitted his mistake. This type of unprofessional behaviour doesn't suit to a brand like Poptates. It used to be our go to spot but this incident changed our minds just because of...

Pop Tate's was one of my most favourite place in Mulund. But now days it is losing its charm. food service, taste and quality has been declined. The waiter has no idea that what is in the menu. I personally experienced three issues that I want to share when I visit last time. We had ordered Africano Fish, Paper blasted chicken and Chicken Lasagne. first two dishes were really good but Lasagne came with a single bread slice, which was odd. How can two people eat that whole dish with a single bread slice?? then we ordered garlic bread separately which came with only three slices, that clearly show how these guys are fooling customers. even the Garlic bread slices had barely any garlic on it and barely toasted which we asked them to fix and then they came with burnt GB, sad. Then we noticed there were some kind of tiny insects were flying everywhere and on our dishes too. Horrible part is when I went in men's loo I found same insects on the urinal pots too, I was shocked to see that. And this one the worst. When we were there a family was sitting on the table behind us. suddenly one of the member of the family had epilepsy like attack. so, we run to the table and tried our best to help them. But the most weird part was, the staff members were like nothing had happened. they didn't turned down the music, they did not called the mall security unless they been told. hardly any staff member was around the family, all of them were busy attending customers. isn't it weird?? my friend was trying to help the lady who had the attack by putting spoon in the mouth and other things. even when the security guard of mall came with wheel chair, the staff members just standing. They should have clear the way for the chair, they should have turn off the loud music so that the person will feel better, they should have asked to the customers if there is any doctor or anyone who can be helpful. they could have done so many things, but it was clear that the restaurant staff was absolutely not trained to handle such situation. I am so disappointed with all this experience that I will not recommend this place to anyone or will not visit is again too. it ws...

Pop tate's is the regular party place for us now. Whenever we crave for pizza and booze we don't need to communicate where to meet.. Whether it is birthday celebration, aniversary party, new year party or any other occasion pop tate's is the destination.. Starting with the location it is at 10 min distance from mulund railway station by Auto and if you are coming by your own vehicle then nearest landmark is mulund checknaka at LBS marg..there is ample space for parking..

Ambiance This place has really good party vibes. Place is quite big enough. You have a choice either to sit inside or sit outside the restaurant in open.. Lighting is good and pleasing to eyes..seating arrangement is also comfortable.. Washroom is also availble inside so you can gulp as much beer you can.... Music is also very good. They have nice collection of songs which will make it more enjoyable

Food The major reason why I visit this place is the delicious food they serve with great quality. Prices are pretty reasonable.. They have wide variety of food from starters to main course. My personal favorites are Melwin fries Pepper blasted chicken Pop tate's fried chicken If you like spicy food then NO NO Naga wings is a must try dish for you.. In pizzas I have tried Meatload pizza ( All time favourite) Peshawari pizza Africano pizza In sizzlers my personal favourite is Grilled chicken sizzler PFC Sizzler is also good.. You can enjoy your booze with these yummy food dishes..

Service Service is really good and quick. Staff is also very polite and courteous..
