One of my friends suggested to visit this restaurant. Booked a table for 2 people, by calling the restaurant at 6PM for 10:00 PM on New Year's Eve. Told by the representative, over the phone that, if I come by 10:05 my booking would be cancelled and I might have to wait for 15 minutes max. They had taken my mobile number for booking the table.
Reached the restaurant at 9:50 PM and I was told to wait for 45-50 minutes and I observe that the same timeline was being given to all the customers waiting.
I requested the person to kindly check my name and number for a reservation at 10:00 PM. To my dismay, I cannot even find my name in the list. On asking about the same, how does the booking system operate. I am told to wait 45-50 minutes or go to some other place.
They spolied my mood on a New Years Eve. To a certain extent, say they were not accurate enough in estimating the wait time of 45 minutes. But not even writing the name in the booking list, is depicts the terrible operational state of the restaurant. Basically, ideally a table should have been reserved for me and instead I was put at the end of the queue. I had dropped plans of visiting other restaurants, since my reservation was confirmed by the restaurant. In case, the restaurant was having empty tables, they would have then contacted me that my reservation is cancelled. Since, they had a lot of customers, waiting they didn't bother to even add the name to the reservation list.
The restaurant manager then starts shouting at me, that I should not yell and just wait for 45-50 minutes or just go from there. Instead of realising his mistake, he is surrounded by his own ego, that there are lots of customers waiting and what if one of the customers goes away without eating.
I then told him that you cannot run a restaurant in such a way. Just for the sake of it, he then apologized, as if he was doing me a favour.
I hope the owners and management of the restaurant, take such issues seriously. So that the reputation of the restaurant doesn't go for a toss, because of the bad behaviour of an employee.
I had asked the employees, if the owner was around, so that I bring it to his knowledge. But he was not...
Read moreAlways come here on the weekends when I have no exams. It is not really family friendly restaurant since it serves alcohol and beer(forgot the difference between two). It also serves champagne and much larger variety of exotic Italian drinks (which my mother hates 😔). Atmosphere is always serene and joyous (making me really wanting to drink alcohol😔 but im underage 😅). 2.Food served is one of the;if not the best, tastiest and apetizing food ever seen in subarban(?) mumbai. Haven't really gone to South Mumbai which is known for its world class cuisine but I gurantee you that the food they serve is comparable to the cuisine served in South Mumbai. There service cannot be described by any number of words. Extremely friendly(my brother who is 10 really likes coming here because of the uncles who gives us suggestions for our dinner) and at a wind-like pace staff bring the order which is a typical con if you do not tell them the sequence of bringing the food to the table, so bear that in mind if you do pay a visit to this place. 4.Presentation and knowledge about the Italian cuisine that makes you wish to repeatedly dine at this place. I will be honest, I do not know a lot about Italian cuisine even when I do cook some of the recipes at home and oh my do they give a detailed description for every food item on the menu when asked for without any slightest hesitation. Con: Please keep in mind about the service tax, could be a bit expensive since it is directly inputed into your final bill by every restaurant in Mumbai so if you do tell in advance about it, they will make sure to remove it before the billing and if you do want to pay the service tax, I DONT MIND 🤷🤷.
BE VORACIOUS, BE HUNGRY AND HAVE A GREAT FOOD VENTURE!
(Will add photos the next time I visit which will probably be the next month after this review is posted). (Lasagne is my comfort food so you can give it try since it's a classic and a must to dwell into the Italian cuisine). (Also keep in mind that the 600 to 800 cost is per head and we are 4 people so the total bill always comes close to between 2000 to 3000 in our case so it is more towards expensive side when it comes...
Read moreNestled in the heart of Oshiwara, in close proximity to the police station, no implications there, just referring to it as a landmark! :) Quesso, with its varied Continental, Thai and Mexican cuisine has been one my most frequented and most favoured place since 5 years now.
Not only is the food delectable, it is a visual treat and clearly displays the expertise of the Chef each time. From their Pizzas to the Greek Mousakkas to the Mexican Quesadillas and the Asparagus soup... each item is cooked with much care and finesse. The person delivering ensures this care too for the food delivered is invariably fresh and hot and always on time. Absolute credit to them considering the notorious Mumbai traffic! This time, I would particularly thank them for yet another delicious meal delivered well in time. We had ordered their Zucchini Roulade, De Tostadaes and the Burrito Bowls, all of which exceeded our expectations in taste and presentation. The Zucchinis were perfectly grilled and placed with much precision on the ever popular Monaco biscuits with generous toppings of cheese and veggie fillings. It was an ideal start to the Mexican delight we hungrily devoured into following this. The flavourful and unique orange flavoured rice with corn, black olives and lettuce salad along with avocado guacamole is a delight to say the least. It satiates your hunger and lightly so... does not leave a heavy feeling full experience. The Burrito Bowls were neatly packed in small individual containers and it took us a while to figure out the order in which we had to place the accompaniments. But each item, from the black beans to the sour cream and the stuffed cherry tomatoes it was a perfection at work. Very impressed with the good, my favourite still is the Zucchini with the pineapple dunked in spicy salad! Thank you Quesso and keep up this quality. That is precisely what keeps this restaurant, with an average ambience but great drinks ticking. So, a little more care in packing and labelling the items and some work on the ambience might just place you head and shoulders above the rest. Entirely worth the...
