I've been regularly ordering from Shreejee's for the past 3 years. And by regular I mean, at least 1 meal a day, so I think that pretty much sums up my views on the restaurant.
I thought it was time to leave these guys a review.
For those interested to know why I patronize this place so doggedly, it's because their food is sasta and tikau, their portions are pretty generous, and their delivery is pretty speedy too.
However, please be warned that this is NOT a sweeping endorsement of all their dishes...in fact, most of their dishes tend to be loaded with masala of the sasta and tikau kind, and are WHOLLY UNAPPETISING to me.
A general rule when ordering from here is to order stuff which is simple and bland...unless of course you possess a cast iron stomach...or hold a serious grudge against your digestive tract.
This is the stuff I usually order from Shreejee's -
Veg Cheese Grill Sandwich - Just the right amount of chutney and spices. Fresh veggies, cheese and boiled potato slices grilled between two gigantic pieces of bread, make for a sasta and tikau lunch or dinner. If you're not very hungry, then the sandwich is big enough for two people to share also.
Veg Paneer Grill Sandwich - This should qualify as a go-to stoner meal, cause you definitely can't finish this off when you're sober...even if you're a hog. The paneer is pretty fresh, lightly cooked and not overly loaded with masala. Bang for the buck.
Tomato, paneer, capsicum, onion utappam - Go-to meal when you want to eat something light and filling at the same time. Paradoxical.
Dal Khichdi With Veggies & Papad - Bang for the buck. Fills you up with some healthy stuff...none of that oily masala business here. Guilt free.
Paneer Utappam - Stoner meal for cheap.
Alloo Matar Grill Sandwich - Now why the hell would you want to order an alloo matar grill sandwich? I don't know why, but I did. And it's not that bad either. It is pretty heavy though...stoner meal when you're too bombed to know what you're ordering. Funny thing is that I was quite sober when I ordered it. Weird.
So this is the stuff I usually order from Shreejee's...I think the most adventurous of the lot would be the Alloo Matar grilled sandwich.
I've tried a few of their other menu items pav bhaji, chhole bhature etc...they taste good enough, but have the tendency to trigger feelings of instant regret in your gut. So I wouldn't go there if I were you.
