Visited this place today and had one of the slowest service I’ve ever had. It wasn’t even crowded as it was a weekday. Our waiter seemed to go out of their way to serve us last — basic water requests were ignored, and our food arrived long after tables that came in later were served. My friend asked for extra chutney and was ignored. Despite all this the waiter stood near our table for tips making us really uncomfortable. I told him the service was poor and ignored him. I have come to this place very often and the waiters pestering for tips have been normalised despite their bad service. Normally I wouldn’t mind giving them tips, but they cannot be entitled to it after doing a very bad job. The only advantage of going to Ramashraya is that there is enough space to sit as compared rest of the South Indian places, which serve almost...
Read moreI've been a regular at Ramashray in Matunga and have generally enjoyed their food. The quality of their dishes is good, and I've had some of my favorite meals here. However, my recent visit was a letdown.
The waiter took our order, but unfortunately, he got it wrong. While I understand mistakes can happen, the issue was with the way it was handled when I pointed it out. Instead of apologizing and correcting the order promptly, the waiter argued with me in a bad language, which was completely unacceptable.
As a regular customer, I expect better service, especially when it's a simple mistake. The food is good, but the attitude of the staff needs improvement. Until they work on their customer service, I would caution others to be prepared for a potentially unpleasant experience.

Read moreThis is a very old and popular joint for some good South Indian fare in Matunga. We reached at 7.30 am on a sunday morning and the place was already packed with a queue to enter. It took us less than 10 mins to get inside but we had to share tables. Inside was completely chaotic. We had to wait almost 20 mins to get served a glass of water despite asking for it 3 or 4 times. The food also took equally long to arrive. In terms of food, we got the ghee podi idli which was good but lacking in ghee. The medu vada was light and crsipy. The ghee masala onion dosa was average. We also got the pineapple sheera which was good and the mysore pak which was a bit too sweet. All of this cost us approx 600 rs for two which was okay. But they need to improve...
