Shree Sunders, a South Indian restaurant located in the heart of Matunga, is a delightful culinary experience that takes you on a nostalgic journey through the rich flavors of South India. As soon as we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by the owner with a genuine smile, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
The menu boasts a wide array of classic South Indian delicacies, and we decided to try their signature dishes: masala dosa, sada dosa, uttapa, and idli. Each dish was prepared with utmost care and attention to detail, resulting in a burst of authentic flavors with every bite. The masala dosa was perfectly crisp on the outside, generously filled with a flavorful potato masala, while the sada dosa had a delicate texture that complemented the accompanying chutneys and sambar exceptionally well.
The uttapa was a delightful surprise, cooked to perfection with a golden-brown crust and a soft, spongy center. It was generously topped with a medley of vegetables and aromatic spices, making it a delectable treat. The idli was light and fluffy, serving as a wonderful accompaniment to the other dishes.
Apart from the mouthwatering food, the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, helping us make informed choices based on our preferences. The owner's personal touch in interacting with the customers added a special touch to the overall dining experience.

The order arrived in 30 minutes in a decent packaging. The Idlis were soft, fluffy and medium sized. They definitely tasted good with thick coconut chutney and delicious sambhar which they provided. The next dish I tried was their Rava Masala Dosa which was thin, crispy & perfectly made. The Aloo bhaji given along with it was delicious and moderately spicy. I absolutely loved the Rava Masala Dosa of Sai Sunders. The last dish I tried was Paper Dosa which was a disappointment. It was very difficult to eat as it was not cooked properly and even after re heating I could not eat it. I called them and they promised to take care of this issue next time. Overall, I had a good & a healthy breakfast.

Read moreThe Brand of Shree sunder is very popular thus we visited the Matunga branch for a proper south indian lunch.
Upon ordering Dosa, we felt that the dosa batter had less salt and brought it to the waiters attention.
The waiter brought loose salt to sprinkle it on top of the dosa. Any person knowing South Indian food knows salt is added in the batter not sprinkled on top.
After raising the concern the owner/manager arrived and asserted that no food is prepared without salt but we felt otherwise.
The rude owner/manager instead of providing solution, shout back at us for not eating what was served even if it was less salt.
The hospitality was dead and we left.
The brand is what we trusted and might not even step foot inside any other restaurant of the same brand due to this behaviour of the manager/owner.
